# General Idea #

* Fork + AoE = Shotgun (bosses get hit up to 3 times)
* more projectile speed --> more AoE (because spltters travel farther)
* not many damage-nodes in tree for SST --> lets add elemental damage
* we still have skillpoints left --> lets add MoM and mana-nodes

pro

* good solo
* high survivability --> uber lab and hc viable

con

* bad single-target damage when no walls nearby
* optimal damage requires good positioning during fight
* requires to play with sound, because you often kill things that are 2 screens away, and might not notice a drop


# Tactics #

shotgun only works when the forked projectiles hit something close enough to bounce back to the main target. So the boss needs to stand close to minions or walls.

More projectile speed makes it easier to have multiple hits per shot, because the splinters travel farther

Open maps are bad, because less shotgunning, because less walls.
Closed Maps are great, because you can shotgun all the time without the need for careful positioning

fighting bosses:
* face-tank them
* rallying cry, so you don't run out of mana
* jump around to keep fortify up
* move target near a corner/wall so he gets shotgunned from the fork. Also jump to the right angle for better shotgunning

# Items #

rares:
prio 1: life
prio 2: mana, resistances
prio 3: projectile speed, damage, mana regen
prio 4: everthing else

uniques:
* shield: whatever has the highest armor. (Lyoneye's ward for budget, good rare later)
* weapon: the tempestuous steel, because that sweet bonus damage
* body: belly of the beast for survivability. Alternative: rare with high life and res
* gloves: winds of changes, because projectile speed + damge
* amulet: Karui Wards (because proj-speed = AoE) Alternative: rare with high life and res
* ring: some rare. or Praxis if you have mana-issues
* jewel: spirit response for mana-regenartion while face-tanking

possible alternative to spirit response + rallying cry:
Watcher's eye with ClarityDamageTakenGainedAsMana, but that is expensive and I haven't tried it yet



# skill tree #

this is my lvl 75 tree. When you need more dps, get some ele nodes (e.g. primeval force, force of nature, defiance, stormweaver). when you need more survivability, get some life nodes (quick recovery, path of the warrior, thick skin). If you want much more damage, drop some mana/life nodes and head for the shadow nodes for ele-damage and proj damage.


# leveling #

you can start going SST as soon as you find it (and have a shield). Just don't use fork right away, because you need high projectile-speed to make it viable.

Move first into the dualist-tree first for basic damage and defenses. Then go to EE. Then get some mana-nodes, and then get MoM. And then get whatever you need most.
