Unique items too poor?

Pop quiz: which of the following are useless for high-level builds:

-Ezomyte Peak, Rusted Casque
-Redbeak, Rusted Sword
-Quill Rain, Short Bow

Seriously, I want to hear your answer on this one. ^^

Ah, right. People think different things about "high-level". When I say high-level, I generally think end-game, maps levels. So basically 70+.

k well idk then don't exactly have the free time to play that much and didn't want to invest all my time into one class without trying other classes and their abilities to see the diversity in the game or what the game has to offer.

Well, I asked Lakers either way.

Redbeak, Rusted Sword is meant to make it easier for you to level up an alternate character.

I get the uniques in PoE have certain 'themes' and can each have more than one of those themes.

1) Low lvl twink item.
2) Build enabling.
3) Just pure badass, while still being possible to be outdone by a godly rare.
4) Passive keystone granting.
5) Give and take (a good bonus with a balancing negative).
6) Having an affix not found on a rare of that stot.

So all the items do have a use, even if that use is nothing more than only being a twink item for a few lvls early on.

But, try as I may, I can't find a use for

Ok it carries blind, but why would anyone use such a terrible wand for blind when if you so wanted blind you could link the gem to the skill in a 4+ link instead of having it free in the 3 link which otherwise limits your supports any way?

The wand is no good for an ele PS build, is no good for a phys PS build (I must vendor far better ele and phys wands daily), the spell damage is easily outdone again by vended wands.

Am I missing something?

Casually casual.

They are not useless if they fit the niche-build they are intended for.

Facebreaker for Unarmed-builds for example.

The helmet Ezomyte Peak works well together with an early-Unarmed build as well.

Sidhebreath works better for a Summoner etc

Afraid of the Shock-debuff?

Early-Mid Full evasion-builds

For someone using Projectiles

collect them (if you play self-found).. maybe one day you make some super-crazy-fun build around some of them ;)

I like that GGG designed uniques to be unique, rather than just be better than anything you could pick up for the rest of the game. The fact that uniques aren't super-powerful continually justify the use of rares (and I guess magic items). If uniques were all-powerful, then what more could you do gear-wise? The way gear is designed in PoE, you always have something to look forward to.
