Unique items too poor?

First of all ... really sorry for my poor English. I use to express myself translate.google, so make an effort to understand the message :(

I have about to 15 unique items, maces, two-handed sword, dagger, boots, gloves; and in all cases they are useless...
my friends think and feel the same, couse if you get an unique, you don't want to feel disappointed all the times.

- gloves without atk. speed.
- boots without movement speed
- weapons without high damage or made for low levels... (i'm 60 and they droop uniques weapon for lvl 17)
- weapons without atk/casting speed :S
- and the worst of all: you must add up the negative propeties.. ( less movement speed but you can't be stuned or gloves with more atk./casting speed but less % of mana :S)

The idea is that unique items are better than rare items, with capacity for more and better propeties, but in any case, with negative properties for your character :S

unique items were not designed to be better than rares, they were designed to fit into niche builds..

Things with "increased" and "decreased" in the tooltip are additive ... where as "More" or "Less" are multiplicative ...

Rares are and always will be better than most uniques. They're called uniques, not legendaries. People keep interchanging the two.
If you have an old rare car, many people may call it unique. That doesn't make the car better then new ones...

Uniques do stuff that regular rares can't do. In many builds, these uniques will be worse then a good rolled rare, but for some those uniques are just priceless. If you make a build based on one or some uniques, you can achieve something that you are not able to achieve with rares. That doesn't mean the build will be better, it will just be something "different" (and maybe better).
I understand the philosophy behind a unique item, but also understand what they are mostly useless, to the point of not expecting anything good when you get it ...

Like I said, they ARE good - but only for certain builds. And they were never meant to be legendary, like already mentioned.

It's like rares. Even a rare item can be worse then a magical item. It just depends on the stats and your own build.

in that case I disagree that they are so limited ... it need not be ... " It just depends on the stats and your own build" and nothing more?
i dont think uniques are useless, in fact i'd like to have more of them, because they're ... unique in terms of granting stuff.

searing touch for example. +70% bonus burning damage? That's like 3 levels on the passive tree for pyromaniac. that's pretty good IMO.
Some noob always complaining... hoping things get better.
