Bear trap unique mob

Firstly, RIP 29 witch.
Turned a corner, and the bastard was hiding around that corner. Didn't even see the boss till I was dead. Question: Is there a cooldown on the bear trap the boss uses? I swear he spammed that shit till I was dead. If there is no cooldown, then I believe this is an issue. The game should be hard, yes. The game should punish mistakes, yes. But screwing up once and getting caught (or like me and didn't see the boss) and getting insta death as a result, that simply isn't fair. /rant off. If there is a cooldown, maybe the other mobs tore me down quicker than what I could get away, but there you have it. Time to try another build. He has 3 traps in which he can stunluck you with.

Game is not built to be fair.
I lost my first HC witch to that bear trap hax bastard as well. Never have gone to his corner of City of Sarn since (solo), not worth the risk to me. 95% of all statistics I use are backed up by SCIENCE.

Yes, I always stick to the western edge of the City of Sarn as much as possible. He's too scary to be worth the risk.
Just like the many rogue-likes which feature perma-death, it's very easy to "instantly" die to a seemingly trivial error, but with knowledge and care, such death can almost always be prevented. |

It's not stunlock, but a root. I know you can still leap slam away, that's how I can survive him.

They actually just buffed him recently, heh. He bear traps, hits pretty hard, and does aoe knifes. Any squishy caught in the trap without a distraction (skele totem, minion) will have a bad day meeting him the first time.
I actually kind of like it, having to learn mobs instead of running through everything mindlessly. It is what makes this game great. |

His bear trap is pretty much like ours (if we opt to use one). A good tip against him is to stay within his melee range so he is forced to hit you with EK rather than trap. Just be careful of his surrounding mobs, as sometimes there are other rares which make it a pain in the ass to deal with.
P.S. Whirling Blades is a good skill to counter him :) @ELLE_mt

Step 1: See the bear trapper Step 2: OH SHIT HE GOT ME Step 3: Press Escape Step 4: Exit to Login screen Step 5: PROFIT :) YOu should never die to him again |
