unique map drops

Do unique maps drops function the same way as normal map drops? so if i run Vaal pyramid maps, Vaults of Atziri could drop? I checked the wiki but it was not clear on this.

I'm honestly not 100% sure how unique map drops work, but I suspect it works like other unique items and not like other maps. Just today for example, I had Maelstrom of Chaos (Atoll base map) drop while doing a map on the other side of the atlas. I did have Atoll unlocked but not maelstrom, so my guess is it rolled an atoll map drop, then does the normal rarity thing where it determined normal magic rare or unique, and rolled unique. So I suspect that, despite having their own spot on the atlas, Unique maps can drop anywhere if you are capable of getting map drops of their base map type, and are probably influencable by item rarity modifiers.

Again, this is just personal conjecture, I am not speaking with any sort of authority on this.

Basically, yes is like any other unique, if you can get the base of the item, then it may drop as unique. So if you completed "Atoll" for example, every time a new map of that type drop, the game will roll to see if is common, magic, rare or unique ("Maelstrom").

Uniqe maps dropping like othe maps. I dropped a unique map which was conneceted to the map I cleard. Other way you farm the divination cards to get a random unique map. If you reached the bonus for the umiqe map the map could drop like the other maops.
