Bleeding and Ailments
I had a question about how Increased bleeding damage stacked with increased ailment damage.
So I have been trying my darnedest to theory craft a build of my own (To try and familiarize myself more with the games mechanics since I have only always ever followed other builds I have found on the forums) So basically if I have 100% increased bleeding damage and 100% increased Ailments damage - do these multipliers apply separately or not? Lets say we do 100 base damage. Bleed does damage based on 70% base damage dealt. this makes us do 70% dot damage without any multipliers to ailments or bleeding damage. (lets just say for arguments sake that the target remains stationary) Now lets apply ailment and bleed damage increases. Method 1 (separate multipliers): 75 * (100% bleed damage) = 150 bleed per second. 150 bleed damage * (100% increased ailment damage) = 300 bleed damage per second. Method 2 (combined multipliers): 75 * (100% bleed and 100% ailments = a 200% increase in damage over time) = 225 bleed damage per second. Last bumped on Mar 15, 2018, 2:45:25 AM

'increased' and 'reduced' mods are always additive (so method 2.)
'more' and 'less' mods are always multiplicative (so, method 1.) These are increased mods, so will add together before multiplying. Note that 70% of 100 is 70, not 75. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Last edited by dudiobugtron#4663 on Mar 14, 2018, 4:46:56 AM

ah - sorry.
I was in like a few different mindsets - this actually does help. Guess i'll have to seperate "increased" and "more" damage increases from each other since I was never 100% sure how they worked. Thank you. |
