Stop. Sleeping. On. Valyrium.

I haven't heard anyone talk about this ring really. Probably because I wasn't playing during the league in which it was released. But man is this little beaut groovy.



There she is. I corrupted her myself.

You see, I did a quick reddit search and found that many people were comparing Valyrium to Skyforth back when it was released. However, I think this ring was not created in order to raise the stun threshold of low HP builds, but instead to lower the stun threshold of low ES builds.

I've noticed that GGG has been sneakily improving the environment for cast when stunned. Each league they make the game friendlier and friendlier for cast when stunned. I started this league as an Occultist who was ES based. But because of the weirdness of the currency situation - it feels like we are getting a little bit less this time around - to the point that grinding to slowly meet the high gear requirements for an Occultist. in maps. just didn't feel good at all.

So I rerolled an Elementalist. With the intention of going life so that I could gear her up with little to no wealth. It felt bad because my Occultist was being built to utilize cast when stunned alongside a main skill so that Malidiction could get used defensively too. And I was sad that going high HP meant that I couldn't do that as an Elementalist. But wait... there's Valyrium. I can go cast when stunned with an HP character.

And it was GLORIOUS!

Cast when Stunned + actually being able to use potions feels better than you'd think. Just lettin y'all know.

Oh and my elementalist will be using this until she can afford a Disintegrator.

I may as well show you my items but I'm only level 59 at the moment. But the build feels really solid so far even though I haven't fine tuned anything yet, just leveling.

I honestly hadn't thought of it as anything other than an alternate to skyforth/chayula before every ascendancy and their brother's goldfish got stun immunity. Interesting idea.

Huh, interesting idea. You planning to go self ignite later on? With stuff like sunspite and eye of innocence or the formless inferno/cloak of flame (that thing could really use a fated version by the way)?

I wasn't aware of eye of innocence. There are multiple permutations of this concept that I can explore. For starters I was considering dual wielding Ichimonji's, but it feels like going staff will give me a higher ceiling at later levels.

I am considering Inpulsa Broken heart plus Maligaro's retraint. I suppose Eye of Innocense is a similiar premise and actually I could theoretically combine them both. But for the time being I'm putting additional damage on hold and just focusing on becoming tankier. Her damage is fine atm, she melted the second Izaro.

And for people wondering where the life is on her gear. Lol, I hadn't realized that bit by bit I'd removed gear that had life rolls in it before. I have to fix that. But I also have Abyss jewels on my tree with life on them. Currently she is level 61 with 2400 life, 300 es. It can go up pretty easily as I'm parked near multiple life wheels.

What a colossal waste of a boatload of damage, life/ES, and some resists. Not to mention how powerful Elder/Shaper rings are these days. Jesus.

Take Soul of the Brine King. Stuns are dead man. The issue was always getting stun-locked, never just one random stun. Even Skyforths aren't what they used to be thanks to how many tricks you can do to avoid stuns these days.

That ring is absolute trash.

This is some real path of exile shit when you get to level 60 and realize that you have way more options than you ever thought when you first started out on the twilight strand

guys you know what else, a poet's pen dropped for me and i had half a mind to re roll this entire thing as a berserker. Maybe one of you want to try that haha

ok guys what i do is i weapon swap to poet's pen to use frenzy plus miscellaneous spell, then i switch back to mah staff for cast when stunned deeps

also for those interested in the usefulness of frost wall in this setup, i have abyss jewels that give me phasing so that i can walk right through them
