Asenath's Chant is pretty underwhelming.

Very good concept, although probably not doable.

Compared to the poet's pen, which always cast a spell on attack, having a 25% chance and over 9 aps with quill rain (should be an average of 2.25 casts per second), it barely shows any usefullness (it's too unreliable), at least the cooldown is 250 ms it seems, like poet's pen; anyway, if the item is not even close to put that 250ms CD to work (max of 4 casts per second or near that), then it's probably not worth it... =/

Imo it could be 33% chance, or 50% or cast a spell once every 3 attacks at the very least.
Buff life on the right side of the tree! Just a little! Pretty Please!

I think it's for casting supporting skills automatically (desecrate+offering, curses, frost bomb, ice spear, IC, vortex, etc...) Seems kinda strong to me in terms of clear speed; like Kitava's thirst but without the mana requirement so you can use it in any bow build. It's like mirage archer except useful.
If you want to spam spells using quill rain then Kitava's Thirst seems better.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Mirage archer is useless if you have 1 6l, it would only be awesome if archers had 2 x6links avaiable always, oh wait.

Tried to make the helmet work with an tri-curse occultist, but the fact that it has a 25% chance to cast 1 of the socketed spells (not 25% chance to cast any socketed spells) made it so it was very unreliable the way that I had planned to use it (to apply curses).

In addition spells with curse on hit doesn't apply curses through this item.
