Beastcrafting - Ideas to improve it

I think Beastcrafting as currently implemented is overall underwhelming, and is a missed opportunity to do something very different. Sure there are a bunch of powerful recipes, but what about rare items crafting? It is uninteresting and doesn't add anything new, it's also usually not worth the time spent compared to regular crafting. This is my idea on how it could be reworked to make it more interesting and potentially more reawarding. You can use more than 1 beastiary beast in the same recipe. Depending on the slot where you place the beast, it gives different results. All the rare items recipes are reworked, no more you have to decide between dozens of different recipes in the menu. At first you have to decide just the base item type (str shield, dex shield, jewellery etc.) but not the mods. After deciding the item type, you have to fill the slots. Clicking on a slot would open a sub menu with a list of aviable mods for the choosen item type, after choosing the mod.. you would pick the related creature to use. The first slot is for garaunteed prefix, second is for garaunteed suffix and third is for special stuff. The special slot would give proprieties like: - Cannt't roll caster/attacker mods - All sockets are linked (doesn't mean it will have 6 sockets) - Has at least 2 sockets of a particular color - Has +20% quality. etc... all the things you can think of, aviable mods depend on the base choosen of course, and obviously OP stuff would be associated with rare bestiary mods. In this way you can craft a rare item with two garaunteed mods + special stuff (but it will cost you 3 beasts). The item could still be crap, as it could spawn on a low level base or have unlucky rolls, but odds to get something good would be higher. Everything should be balanced in order to make the process rewarding without going overboard. You can replace one or more bestiary creatures with normal rare beasts to make the recipe cheaper, but will lose the garaunteed mod associated with the slot. Using 3 captured rare beasts with no bestiary mods will result in a random rare item of the choosen type without any garaunteed stuff. Last bumped on Mar 9, 2018, 9:35:38 AM
