Best Starter Build for 3.2? (Totems preferred)
Can anyone link me to some builds that have been updated with the patchnotes? (Or maybe if there's better ones that aren't totem builds) Just any good starter builds that can be converted to strong endgame builds. Thanks!

The patch notes have changed literally nothing relevant to totems. The only change that might affect you is reworked Herald of Ash if you're using a fire skill.

Nonsense. The changes to the Templar and Chieftain ascendancies have pretty much re-wrote the book on totem use.

hiero will be best totem build by far inquisitor is no longer higher dps option. Totem placement speed on hiero is just insane quality of life.

" They have also been known for over a week. The release of the patch notes today changed nothing. Last edited by Abdiel_Kavash#5296 on Feb 28, 2018, 5:52:27 PM

" Actually the ascendancy teasers were subject to change significantly prior to patch notes. And did. |

i am going scion (hiero/chieftain) totems due to changes in scion ascendant.
Incinerate totems. and I will be using the new herald of ash. But ya, pure hiero is a good choice for totems. Also with the buffs to zombies and skels, necro will be a good starter build as always. (Patch notes just noted that zombies will be doing much better too, as faster smaller hits will be good for zombies who used to be much too slow in attacking, and getting the proper benefit from added damage, and increased cast speed.) There are a kerjillion build guides for necros, just go to the witch forum and looks for "starter" or "low cost" or "beginner friendly" | |
" Admittedly I have only checked Hierophant and Chieftain, but these two are exactly identical to the public information we had before. I guess if you wanted to make a Trickster totem build there was a small change to your expected damage output. Base mechanics of the class haven't changed. Are there that many Trickster totem builds which are newbie-friendly at the same time? Last edited by Abdiel_Kavash#5296 on Feb 28, 2018, 6:01:59 PM

A skeleton build would be much better than any totem build:
-Much higher boss dps (Bonus combo, you can use vaal summon skeleton for high boss burst) -Doesn't require anything to works (Get scourge if you can afford to, but no need for soul mantle+ uniques reducing effect of curses) -Much more tanky (since you can dedicate every single slot to defense, just get a rare chest so you can +1 skeleton) -It's not a "pet" build. You spawn skeleton right on top of enemies, no travail time. Honestly, it's one of the best starter available, by far. You can also do the whole content without much trouble. |

I'm so torn, I do almost exclusively totem builds (in hc) and this go is driving me nuts for choice.
Spark, Spark/COTB, FB, GC, are the ones I'm debating, though poison stuff is tempting too - definitely going Hiero this time if totem. I'm shooting for "Laziest ass farming ever" this time round focusing on currency farming until I see what FOTM comes out I can recreate in my own way. I've been playing intently for 6 years now, I cant take another 'intense' build anymore. Any 'lazy ass farming' builds anyone can recommend totem or otherwise that's a good league starter/farmer without plans to go deep into maps? I'm the Ps guy: Psomm, Pso, Psong, pso-on and pso-phorth.
