Here are the details of the gems coming in 3.2.0!
GGG, you have really outdone yourselves in 3.2. I hope the patch notes are more on the lines of monsters do more damage and have more health rather than the following uniques/passives/skills were nerfed to compensate for asc changes.

that shield trhow still puzzles me, not sure if super OP or average at best. there are couple of gg shield with 2900 armor in standar that makes me wonder.
2900 should give around 386 to 580, add the base of 132 to 198 and we get 518 to 778 base damage :/ self found league fan http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/324242/page/1 Last edited by caboom#7201 on Feb 27, 2018, 8:11:59 PM

" It's reasonably good. Let's look at a *decent* reliably-obtainable shield, a low roll Lioneye's. 1500 armor (makes for easy calculation). At level 20 SST, that would be 165 average phys from the gem plus 250 average phys from the shield, total 415 average damage per hit. Attack time of .6 seconds, so 1.67 base aps. That comes out to ~693 pdps on the initial hit, ~520 pdps on shards. So, let's compare that to a similar (popular) skill, frostblades. What kinda weapon dps would it take to match that with level 20 frostblades. Well, FB deals 141.8% weapon dps for both initial hit and projectiles, so: -To match SST's single target dps, we'd need a weapon with 693/1.418 = 488.7 dps. -To match SST's shard dps, we'd need a weapon with 520/1.418 = 366.7 dps. It'd take a solid 1 hander to match a SST's shard dps, and it'd take a very good 1hander to match its single-target dps. And that's with an easily obtainable unique shield with way less potential armor/ev than a well-rolled rare. And without factoring stat-stick-like bonuses that SST can take advantage of from your weapon (while FB doesn't stat-stick well) Now there are other factors, like FB having conversion (which can be good or bad, depending on how much you invest in penetration and whatnot), and SST being more restricted on nodes for scaling, and SST scaling everything on projectile damage while FB's initial hit doesn't, but looking at the base dps alone i'd say SST looks quite competitive. It's nice to have a build buffed before I play it, my planed starter since the league announcement has been a sst deadeye or gladiator (leaning towards the former).
Now deadeye is SO much better and the base attack speed and damage of sst is higher than I had guessed. Happy times. Too bad it might fall into the flavour of the week price trap... |

Oh, Phantasms got buffed. Neat.
I have some ideas... |
