Certain prophecies such as Hidden Vaal Pathways or A Master Seeks Help will spawn in the portion of the map that is no longer accessible due to the quest state.

Can't you enter the sewers from the Sarn Encampment and make your way back to the area of the Cesspool before the Doedre fight?
It doesn't make a bit of difference, guys. The balls are inert.
