Cyclone Witch Build
Hello Forum,
I'm interested in trying a build, but I'm afraid of sinking too much currency and so I'm wondering if anyone has any information on a witch cyclone build and do you think something like that would be viable? I normally do duelist/mara for cyclone but this sounds pretty interesting. Just looking for opinions/possible suggestions for doing this. Last bumped on Feb 9, 2018, 11:21:36 AM

Why don't you just do it with SSF gear, or inexpensive rares, and see how it performs in less taxing scenarios before you start with theorycrafting the perfect unique combos, etc? Anyway, it should be possible to do at least yellow maps with this; the blood/flesh/bone/spirit offerings are pretty powerful on necromancers regardless of anything else, even without minions.

Your profile is private and characters hidden so I don't know what characters you have sitting around in standard, but I usually have leveled characters that have full respecs that I use to test builds.

It will just be more expensive than the usual slayer/raider.
For example leech nodes are far away, so that's an extra gear requirement. Life nodes are also harder to get to so you can't really miss out there either. Maybe try two 300+ dps foils with Occultist and see where it takes you in Path of Building. |

The question to ask yourself is "why am I playing a WItch Cyclone build?"
'Witch' and 'Cyclone' are both pretty broad descriptors; there's a lot of things a Witchclone build could be. Which one are you aiming for? Why is it better than Marauder/Duelist? What's it do for you, and why is that better than whatever you could manage with Marauder/Duelist? The immediate thing in my head, given the total absence of typical Cyclone weapon nodes near Witch and the aforementioned issues with Leech, would be Necromancer with dual Scourge claws, and then travel east to pick up Soul Raker. That covers a significant amount of damage scaling, lets you use Minion damage nodes as Cyclone damage nodes, and handles your leech issues (a'la the way every other melee Necromancer does things). The question then becomes "why am I doing this on Witch in the first place?" Necromancer has obvious defensive benefits via self-targeting Offerings. It does cool things with minions and minion damage, and can boost itself with corpse consumption. Scourges let it universally boost damage, which could make for interesting trigger set-ups. Get a 5l/6l Blade Flurry in the chest for bossing, then use a set of corrupted Cast on Crit gloves for something like Cyclone > SRS > Melee Phys > EDwA (with Hatred and cold conversion in tree/gear) for random scrubbery. Admittedly, mostly to be amusing as much as anything else, but then again why not? Regular Cyclone is for schmucks and philistines* anyways, so why not make some crazy Monster Mash build out of it? *
Spoiler
Cyclone is not actually for schmucks and philistines. It's a perfectly usable skill.
I just absolutely loathe beyond all reason and comprehension the aesthetics of spinning around like a complete drunken todger with your weapon held out and thinking this represents a threat to your enemies, so I cannot help but give Cyclone shit whenever I can.
