Ability to buy stuff from public stash tab without player
We have a public stash tab. We have an individual prices for items. Why do we still have to wait for someone to come online to buy things? And if you looking for online only offers from poe.trade 60-80% of people just don't answer.
Yesterday I wanted to buy a 7+ gems for a new build and it takes about 2 to 5 "online" offers from poe.trade to finally buy a single gem. Same issue with gear, but the problem is bigger because you usually want a very specific stats, not just quality over X percent. My time spent in "Path of Trader" is about the same with the Path of Exile. If I'm not playing the game, I'm not buying cosmetics as there is no cosmetics for poe.trade as well as not buying a new stash tabs because I'm not filling them. Every time I want to try a new character the thought about dealing with trading comes to my mind resulting in me refusing this idea and probably changing the game. It may be the reason why I haven't played since april 2015. Selling stuff is not fun as well. The people who actually can pay usually work from 10 to 18 so they don't have all day to wait for customers. They want to return home, look at some profit and continue playing. It was very satisfying thing in WOW or Crossout when you can come online and see your stuff sold. And it's very unsatisfying to buy a premium stash tab and look at zero sales after several days. I'm getting more offers spamming items in the trade chat. The fix can be very simple. You get a seller name from poe.trade or forum, you come to his hideout and buy the stuff from his public stash with the currency from your inventory. Later is would be better to add an ingame browser but right now at least a buyout option would make a trading experience much less tedious. Last bumped on Feb 2, 2018, 1:19:14 PM

there is no such thing like a simple fix for an too effective market.
if you say that getting items in the economy is too painful you have to see it in the context of finding it ingame. glad to have helped age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

To get the gear I have without trading I would have to play for hundred or more hours using the same character at about the same tier maps. I'd get bored pretty quickly so there is a two options: to start another character and try to have some fun leveling or leave.
Trading makes me able to start playing more interesting content before I get bored of grinding the same maps. Also it gives the ability to make another character without spending another 50 hours for getting even a basic gear. The trading even at this tedious state is much more rewarding than just playing. You cannot avoid trading if you don't want to quit your job, ignore your friends and play POE all day. So what? If it's so useful even at the current state there is no reason to make it more convenient? As I said, inconvenient trading doesn't help devs make money, it's actually only hurts the game. People playing games to relax and have fun. Minimizing/maximizing your game for a hundred times each evening doesn't makes it more fun. Last edited by LndBochkarev#1188 on Feb 2, 2018, 8:37:42 AM

" This will not happen for the same reason any of the million other threads about "making trade easier" will not happen: GGG believe that trade is healthy, but only in limited quantities. They also believe that if trade is too easy then players rapidly purchase the best gear, complete whatever goals they had, and leave, reducing overall engagement with the game. Regardless of if we, players, agree or disagree about GGG being correct, if we are going to see any change here we absolutely have to address the specific concerns that GGG cite as their reasons to not do this. Your post does not do this. It outlines a technical proposal to make trading easier. This is pointless, as it doesn't even touch on the real blocker to easier trading, so cannot possibly be effective at changing GGG's position. |
