Does "Gain #% As Extra ___ Damage" apply before or after conversion?

Does "Gain #% As Extra ___ Damage" calculate its damage before or after Frost Blades does its own conversion? For example, if my Frost Blades did 5000 damage, with 20% Gain, would I do 6000 damage or 5500 damage?

"X% of Y damage added as Z damage" is conversion. It just does not remove the original damage type and is not capped at 100%. It is applied at the same as any other conversion modifiers and obeys the same rules.

See wiki for details and examples.

In your case, with 5000 base physical damage, 60% phys converted to cold, and 20% phys gained as fire, you would do:

2000 physical damage
3000 cold damage (physical converted to cold for purpose of modifiers)
1000 fire damage (physical converted to fire for purpose of modifiers)

Thanks. Was looking around for a 1H build I could use with a 412 P.DPS axe and a shaped statstick and was wondering if ele skills were off the table.
