pathofexile.exe has a MASSIVE number of issues
|
The executable is spiraling out of control, what should be a 20 second process of handshake token valid hash checks file download if invalid or hash doodad mismatch or whatever it's called loading and running GGG's version of Warden, then getting the shaders/game files and making the calls to the windows dir and subs for it's effects, instead, according to Resource Monitor immediately, and when I say immediately I mean right away, causes the executable to hang and "not responding".
This is 1 second after I hit my desktop shortcut to run the executable. No offence, but how in the fuck is the executable failing after 1 second? Like, honestly, I love this game, but something with the code or it's implementation is making this the worst, BY FAR, application, game or not - I've even tried to run. I have dozens of other executables on this system. World of Warcraft on AV weekends I can start the game, zone into SWC, hit join, load into the alliance cave with 39 other toons and some pets, and this all takes 20 seconds, from when I start the blizzard app to in the cave. It can take multiple attempts to log in, and then enter the game, and then actually can take 5 minutes to zone into oriath, then other 1-3 to enter my Ho, and then if it's my first map of the day another 1-3 minutes to zone into the map. So, on some bad softlayer days, it can be an 18-minute process of getting the executable to load and then kill my first mob. I have dozens of other executables on this system, none take longer than 30 seconds from double-clicking the icon to it's doing what it's designed to do. Poe can take 18 minutes. Something seriously needs to be fixed. I love this game, spent my fair share of money to support, but this can't go on, it simply can't. I'm at my wit's end with the game, it's entirely too frustrating, and I don't need this, even if Poe is fun, sometime soon, I'm uninstalling and not looking back if this doesn't get rectified. I understand hamburgers aren't free on the small island, but it's high time the executable is fixed so it runs like a 2018 executable in 2018. Last bumped on Jan 22, 2018, 7:24:39 PM
