If that is true, it is probably a bug. IIQ and IIR on your character apply to anything associated with you (traps, totems, mines, minions* all). The furthest I could imagine is - if you are using Item Rarity Support, it might not carry over to the Mirage Archer kill.

*It's one of the few exceptions to the Minion rules that I always forget to mention.

This is kind of a technicality, but it is not an exception. (The rule you're referring to I assume is "only modifiers that specifically mention minions or support gems affect minions".)

Your IIR/Q modifiers do not apply to minions. If you have 50% IIQ, your minions do not also have 50% IIQ. But what happens is, for any kills done by a minion, the IIQ/R of the minion itself is added up with your character's IIR/Q to determine the drops.

Let's say you make an Animated Guardian out of an item that has 25% IIR. (Animated Guardians and Weapons are the only minions that can have IIR/Q currently.) You are also wearing another item with 50% IIR. When the guardian kills a monster, the items dropped will be affected by 75% IIR total. But the guardian itself still only has 25% IIR.

If your IIQ/R modifiers also affected your minions, they would be counted twice. In the above example, the guardian itself would have 75% IIR, and a monster killed by it would drop items as if you had 125% IIR total. This is not correct.

Ehhh, that'd be a good excuse to exclude it, but whenever I answer questions like that, I try to answer in terms of player decision making or net effect. Similar to how I'd imagine myself answering old derived-DoT questions - "Does Spell Damage affect my Ignites?" "Yes, but not directly. The Ignite itself is Damage over Time which can't benefit from Spell Damage, but the Damage over Time value is based on the hit, which is Spell Damage. In that way, your Spell Damage will affect your Ignites."*

Maybe for the sake of brevity, I'd spell out the minion rule as "The only things that can directly affect minions are things that say minion, or applicable Support gems."

*For new players: This answer is no longer true as of 3.0.

Yeah, I can definitely see that line of reasoning. It does not affect your minions, but it affects kills done by your minions. (Headhunter is the only other example of something like this that I can think of right now.)

I guess it deserves at least being mentioned in these discussions.
