SRS witch (necro) help.

I'm looking to start a second character for the current league and take a little break from my main. I wanted to do an SRS necro build for its very cheap budget and strong end game effectiveness, especially for strong bosses like shaper and atziri. I've seen many different variations for the srs build on youtube and other forums, ranging from different gem setups, different gear and some skill tree variations. I don't understand one bit the science and math behind all the numerical stuff, etc, to theory craft or just make something on my own so i tend to follow builds I like that are a good fit for me budget wise (cant do really expensive builds or builds that require a lot of or have more than 1 piece of gear that cost exalts or tons of chaos). So for the SRS build, should I just pick and choose the guide I like the best or would I be fine taking bits and pieces from more than one guide and still have an effective build?
