GGG account switch from Steam to Client?
|
I've encountered quite a ton of issues since having played PoE in 3.1, constant "unexpected disconnection" errors, client crashes, GPU restarts due to game start up, audio bugs and the like.
I'm really not looking forward to putting down Path of Exile, and would love to do anything in my power to try and find a way around this all, and my last resort outside of trying to upgrade (which is pretty much out of my reach at this point) is switching over to the Client version... Is there a way to switch my account from Steam to be able to play on the client whatsoever? I've had people say they switched to the client version and their issues are almost non-existent, or happen on the rarest of occasions. Would love to see a response, Regards Last bumped on Jan 15, 2018, 12:19:42 PM

Hello,
If you’d like to use the standalone client you’d need to contact Support and have them help you add log in credentials to your account so that you can log in without using Steam. Send an e-mail to support@grindinggear.com if you’d like to do this. However I’d be extremely surprised if this helped with the issues you describe. Apart from how updates and payments are handled, the two game clients should be identical. I can’t think of a reason why you’d have such problems on one but not the other. It might be more productive to troubleshoot those issues individually. It’s up to you which you’d prefer to try, though. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support. Free Technical Support guides are available here: https://www.poecommunity.help No ads, trackers, or other weird stuff. Last edited by Sarno#0493 on Jan 15, 2018, 11:12:21 AM

" Also sorted now, just gradually downloading away at the client hahah thankyou. I'm not sure it'll fix any of my issues either, but it's worth a shot I guess! :D |
