Map drops seem to suck again

At first I thought it was a feeling i got after harbinger, but now having unlocked most of the atlas I can see thats not the case, and map drops seem absurdly low.

It is indeed retarded. Chaining T14+ maps is kinda impossible even with good zana mods chisels and high packsize.

You are not intended to sustain high tier maps, the atlas bonus dose not increase the map drops. RNG

i'm not talking about just high tiers. map drops in general seem absurdly low. Sometimes i'm chaining 2-3 red maps without even a white map drop (not that it'd matter anyway). I remember a lot more of them dropping in the last league.

It's completely true. GGG have done this, just like they did in Harbinger, Legacy, Breach, Prophecy, and in fact every single league since the launch. The secret behind it all is actually this:

GGG use the client for grinding out "crypto" currency, and map drops are tied to how much your earn. Just as it takes more computation the more currency has been issued for a normal client, your in-game map drops just decrease over time as it takes more computation to generate another coin ... and so another map!

Wait.... that is just silly. That can't be right. However, I'll tell you the actual truth this time:

GGG actually planned this out. They are busy building PoE 2 right now, and it is gonna be a pay-to-play game. In order to stop people playing PoE 1 forever they are actually just turning down map drop rates every league - just like your post is exactly identical to the ones in every single league since launch - until eventually they are so close to zero that everyone will be running T1 maps only ... or buying PoE 2.

Yup. Secret plan is that for sure.

TL;DR:

1. Reduce map drop rates.
2. ?????
3. HUGE PROFIT!

In harbinger, i was able to chain T16 maps and Shaper, and it was even profitable (fragment cost >>> map cost, shaper drop > fragment cost). And i LIKED that kind of gameplay! I made 36 challenges and played till i got 92 level.

In abyss, i got bored by absurdly low map drops, that i gave up at 87 level and 15 challenges! This league isnt worth my time, i dont want to play to chain easy and boring T10 maps!!!

I better just go play Grim Dawn instead! At least, there i can reach all hard content without massive currency investment for each run!!!

lol that gave me a good laugh :D
More objectively though, the drop rates compared to harbinger are apparent in the cost of buying maps on trade. in harbinger, at about mid-league a t16 map would be 3-5c, in abyss its 20c+. Granted the orbs made it a bit easier, but harbinger orbs were pretty rare in themselves. All it allowed was to finish ur atlas quicker by using orb of horizons.
The orbs made an absolutely massive difference lol, don't try to downplay it by saying "a little bit," if you dropped a -1, it was essentially a return. However, it wouldn't surprise me if GGG went too far in the opposite direction this time around as "compensation" and subjectively speaking, trying to run shaped T12 and 13s even with like 115 atlas bonus seems quite difficult.
map sustain is nearly impossible this league.

I have 145% bonus

And running T12+ with quality, rolled with 4-5 mods each, and zana mods, I still can't keep but a small few amount of T14+, guardians are almost impossible to keep going.

I mean putting 25c into a map and all it returns is 4 yellows is brutal, especially when you have almost 100% atlas completion.

It's never been this hard to sustain once breaking 100 or so on atlas bonus, since altas was released.
