Poe Launcher to steam?

I am using the PoE launcher from pathofexile.com and I would like to use steam one, do I have to link my steam account to my poe account? and how.

To play on steam do i have to install the whole game again, cause I tryed to play off steam and i had to dowload the whole game again. :(

there also is a explaination here on how it works.

ggg support has to link both accounts together.

you can play both versions (standalone and steam) with just the steam installation.

at least it used to work before they released the x64 version.

copy pathofexile.exe and pathofexile_x64.exe from your standalone installation to your steam poe folder. steam poe's exe files are named differently so they can coexist.

create a link to pathofexile.exe on your desktop and open it's properties, add --nopatch to the command line so that it looks like

"c:\gamesWhatever\steaminstallFolder\pathofexile.exe --nopatch"

this is neccessary so the standalone version doesn't patch the ressource file both versions use, reasons being that steam can't use a ressourcefile that got patched by the standalone client but the other way around works.

if you have to patch the game you need to start steam poe once before you can use the standalone client in the steam install folder.

Thanks for the help, i'll just stick with regular launcher, i don't need friends :(
