Kaom & Daresso - "Dream versions" vs. "Real versions"?

Hi,

So I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on if killing the "dream version" of Kaom/Daresso means the "real version" of Kaom/Daresso is dead. Or maybe we might see them make a thematic reprisal as completely newly designed fights--new attacks, new patterns, and nods to the old fight maybe. Or am I the one dreaming here? :P

I always figured we were fighting idealised versions of each. Simplified in their motives, exaggerated in their representation. Daresso didn't get any real coverage in the graphic novel but Kaom sure did and he was a lot more...well, normal back then. Reading the lore objects as you progress through each dream reveals the nature of each king's monomania, and by the time we get to them it's pretty clear we're not dealing with rounded, complex characters, but embodiments of extremely unhealthy obsessions.

The "real versions" of Kaom and Daresso are dead, but its not because we killed the 'dream versions' of them. GGG had us fight the 'dream versions' because the real versions were already dead before we arrived on scene.

Of course, being dead hasn't stopped us from fighting Malachai, Doedre, and Shavronne over and over and over again, so who knows... maybe we will encounter the 'real' versions someday. Death seems to be a revolving door in POE.

I think Malachai never actually died until we defeated him in the Beasts Core. He just went there and started turning everything to nightmare using the beasts life force to make himself immortal and also modifying his body to the being we have to fight.

He even did the same to Diala and made her immortal until she used her life force to allow us entry in the beast.

Man, I hope so. Because Daresso and Kaom are sweet enough to deserve more than some encore appearance as Map bosses. (That's also why I want to see Daresso's uniques get some "Fated Unique" love.)

Daresso should be stronger, much stronger, than he is. Kaom too.

While we're on this subject... Tukohama. The_Scourge and I have discussed this before on a different subforum, but while I think his dinkiness is hilarious, it is not exactly impressive.
