best freezing pulse support gems

Hi guys,

Playing a freezing pulse build for the first time in a long while and I was wondering what the best support gems are. I'm currently using spell echo, ice bite, controlled destruction and elemental proliferation (5L for now).

There are other useful gems (hypothermia,cold penetration, added cold, elemental focus, volley etc) but I am not sure which combination works best; is it better to go for a crit build or raw spell damage?

Also worth mentioning, I'm trying to make an aegis aurora STR/ES guardian build, so Idk maybe iron grip may be worth using?

Iron grip is for attack only (FP is a spell).

I could swap ele proliferation for cold penetration (vs bosses) or faster projectiles (for map clearing).

Crit based builds are doing higher damage (with right gear) and are able to freeze.

On the other hand it´s easier to build no crit build (you can also use EO).

Well you need lots of passive points for Aegis aurora build to be effective so ... it´s up to you anyway:)

Iron Will would work instead of Iron Grip. But you need a lot of strength to make it worthwhile.

- Spell Echo
- Faster Projectiles (increases range)
- Elemental Focus (can't freeze anymore, though)
- Controlled Destruction
- Cold Penetration
- Faster Casting
- Added Cold Damage
- Slower Projectiles (decreases range, though)

My prefered links are:

Spell Echo
Added Cold Damage
Cold Penetration
Hypothermia
Controlled Destruction (cannot lower base crit below 5%, so you only lose 1% base crit and gain SO much more).

After that, you can choose what you want depending on your build. Faster Casting is rarely neccesary, but is a good combo with Spell Echo (increased + more cast speed = crazy). Instead of using Faster Projectiles, get a Quality 20 Freezing Pulse - it was enough for me.

The last build I made used a 6 linked Pledge of Hands for built in lvl 30 Spell Echo, so a 7 linked in total. It also used Pyre for cold to fire conversion and used both cold penetration and fire penetration. It worked really well. Take a look at my character Iscarou.
