Leveling past 95 is... painful now.

Must be some elite/no life player problem.

For me, lvl 90 is where I cap. After I ding 90, I just don't care about exp anymore; there's not enough time in a day to be able to do it.

Sorry, not the case.

Progression does matter for some of us, and after I became invested in PoE, I also became invested in my main character.

I would actually enjoy having some sense of said progress post 95 up to 100 by testing that character versus the most dangerous content of the game constantly - and that on Softcore will surely bring some deaths, even just due to the mandatory always online status of PoE, combined with me disregarding any Alt + F4 macros - as that is where the adrenaline kicks in, and you have rushes by paying attention and keeping the involvement, instead GGG encourages the "skipping of bosses" even with the War for the Atlas mechanics...

It took me thousands of hours to get to 98. I can easily respec on any other "opie-op meta", and just push through the rest at the fastest pace possible, but that would break the immersion irrevocably, and make me lose all remaining interest in PoE, although I am a compulsive hoarder.

GGG needs to stop this "level 100 status" on each level up, as it does such a great disservice to PoE. Everyone rushes up to a set point, no matter which one, and then becomes complacent... And that is more sad than anything, and the biggest problem of Softcore...
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...

I've just reached 95 in ASC and there is a HUGE difference between 94-95 and 95-96. Before I was getting a level every 7 hours or so, Now it feels like it'll take 10-12 hours to level, usually it's like 1 hour difference between levels.

This feels really terrible, and I don't get why they had to do this when like 0.2% of people reached level 100, and will still continue to reach level 100, all they really did was made the race to 100 longer and made it feel horrible to level past 95 for everyone else.

At 95, you can as well assume your reached maximum level, if you arent a no-lifer.

There is no knowledge
That is not power
Is my build viable for maps if yes then who cares about more levels after around 85 on every char that isnt doing 90 for challenge . I felt the same way the decade or more i played D2 , around 85 my builds were always done .

You reached 95 in what? -> 20 days in abyss league? Congrats. There are 2 month 10 days left to you to reach your goal - lvl 100.

Just wanted to join others, who feel that chr is done at lvl 85-90. After that - up to you, do mind-less grinding or no.

I prefer to make more chars, do the 36/40 portal challenge and not to whine about level 100 exp -> yes, i was D2 player too, never get to lvl 100, and don't feel like will hit 100 in PoE anymore -> i skipped mayhem-races, where in party lvl 100 in sofcore was easy to get - what was the record, less than 14hours?

So... let it be painful. IF I will decide to play overt 95 I will.

Good post - my thoughts exactly
i really dislike the direction of spoiling the streamers and abandoning the casuals. Its already impossible to get past 90 for casual builds due to exp loss. And they keep lowering the exp rates which makes the situation even worse. They should add some sort of virtual levels past 100(that give nothing but fame) instead of decreasing the exp rates to punish casuals. If you think about it, that would do the perfect job for the streamers as they need to compete to get views. And longer competition equals more publicity.

Problem is once you get to certain point your progression will be stopped completely due to occasional deaths. I can put in 1000 hours on my character but i wont get past certain point.

I never understood why:

1.) Players care abut lvl 100 (outside of racers / streamers). The last 5 points have (and always had) such a bad time investment vs power return ratio, that grinding anything else but XP (even Uber helm enchants) sounds like a much better usage of time and currency. Your char is never really finished anyway (eg. minmax gear), so might aswell stop at a certain point, when time investment gives almost zero returns.

2.) Why GGG cares about lvl 100 so much. I'd understand if the game had no build diversity and you were supposed to level each class only once. Or if the game had nothing else to do but XP grind. But it has a ton of build diversity and rerolling is so much more rewarding than spamming the same skill for several months. And it's not like the XP nerfs had any considerable impact on "professional" players.

(players enjoy a longer grind = pure BS ;))
