Is Xsolla safe ?

Hi guys,

I read a lot of comments on the forum/reddit and it seemed that there were many problems with/when they changed to Xsolla.
I planned to buy some stuff but it seems that i am hesitant to go through Xsolla. I know that every internet payment companies *should* be safe but here we're talking about russian safety level (even if the HQ seems to be US now) :/

Did anyone have trouble/issue with the payment method recently ?

It's not that there are issues with the payments, they go through just fine.

What people have issues with is that Xsolla is a company that tends to go really wide really fast, which is why they offer such an ungodly amount of ways to pay for things. This focus on offering and maintaining all of these payment methods comes at a price on the quality side of things and that's where many concerns are coming from.

Also, but this is just from hearsay, Xsolla has been accused of selling personal information to third parties in the past, so people aren't too happy about their info having passed their eyes. Whether this is true or still true is a question to ask, but when it comes to this kind of thing, it's better to be safe than sorry, trust me.

My advice? Use Steam to buy points and ask Support to help you upgrade them into Supporter packs if you wanted to buy one or two. That's what I did.

My first try and a payment just got stuck in a pending loop and then I had a spam email trying to sell me stuff about 2 minutes after.

Also still waiting for any help from GGG customer support.

Tried a 50point buy after and that went through without issue. But still, I have the previous stuff pending 3 times on my account.

Has put me off trying to buy a supporter pack again.

Also, as I don't use dollars as my native currency, it would be nice to see some kind of conversion fo what they are actually going to charge me. Like pretty much every other payment option I ever use for anything online.

It might be that transactions above a certain threshold go through additional verification protocols. These won't always be automated and may take a few days, especially so close to the holidays. GGG Support may also be very busy right now.

Some recent odd charges on both my AMEX and my wife's DISC have me suspicious. Within a few weeks of buying the previous supporter packs both cards received charges we didn't make - few hundred dollars each. These cards have never been used at the same place before that. I can't prove anything, but it's damn coincidental.

Really just an inconvenience since the credit card companies stopped 5 of 7 charges as fraud and contacted us on the other two. Plus we watch our statements weekly and the charges were cancelled immediately by AMEX/DISC.

Thank you, i used with this solution. For those wondering how to, just buy the points in-game through the micro-transaction shop.

I'm definetily not going to give any information on my card to Xsolla, not with their reputation.

I wouldn't touch Xsolla with a stick. Had an issue with my card and bank account because of them. Sure, you can have a successful transaction but then watch your bank account like a hawk for some random charges from who knows where.
Just tried to buy a pack. It quickly went to some website first, then to paypal. I assume it was Xsolla.

I went ahead and logged into Paypal, then it popped up an Xsolla window wanting me to confirm that I will use this Credit Card for future transactions with Xsolla. Never seen that before with paypal.

Cancelled out, guess I don't need any new MTX :(

I've used the PayPal via Xsolla option a few times in the last week or so and haven't had that happen myself. In the first Xsolla window you get are you unchecking the "stay logged in to check out faster in the future" option? I always uncheck that and the log into PayPal and redirect back to vendor procedure goes through just like normal with PayPal. I do know sometimes PayPal will ask a similar question if you choose your non-default payment method. But I assume that's not what you're referring to.

In any case, although I agree that Xsolla isn't someone to trust with payment info. You should be fine using them via PayPal provided you aren't choosing to store any payment info with Xsolla.
I have had problems with Xsolla in another game. I also had suspicious charges show up after using them several years ago. Had to have my card re-issued. I would not trust Xsolla at all. I was very disappointed when GGG went this route.
