Ancestral Call + Molten Strike Questions
There's this rumor going around about the gem combo listed in the thread title, which I believe stemmed from a streamer, that shift-clicking a single target monster without name-locking allows Ancestral Call to trigger additional Molten Strike projectiles as if you were attacking multiple enemies.
But the thing is...I can't seem to notice a difference at all between shift-cliking & name-locking; which if true means that using Ancestral Call + Molten Srike vs single target does absolutely nothing but decrease it's damage by 16%. Is this rumor even true? Was it true, yet patched? Am I doing it wrong? As it stands now, the single target damage of my 5-Link Molten Strike feels like a pseudo 4-Link–it's actually incredibly...meh. I wanted to make sure I'm not getting something wrong before I dump currency into changing the socket colors & swapping Ancestral Call for Conc. Effect. When I last tried it two days ago, it worked perfectly fine. Keep in mind though that you need to keep your distance a bit so that the attack from your character doesn't connect with the monster. Otherwise there would be no difference.
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

" Ahhh, I see. I've been standing directly on top of the enemy to get the most out of Point Blank, so that explains why I've seen no difference. I'll try to keep my distance & see how it works out. Thanks for the reply. Last edited by Omega_Nebula#6502 on Dec 17, 2017, 2:08:29 AM
