Yep. You have that straight. No automation... no matter what device or program you use to do it. You'll get a ban.

Does that mean I should not have Razer Synapse running at all while playing Path of Exile?! I've always had it open in the background without a problem (i've never used macros though)..I just want to make sure I wont get banned for having the application open while Path of Exile is running. Now you guys got me worried lol. Razer is a pretty big company so I would think most game developers wouldn't allow us not to have the update client running while we use their game <.<

Don't think that having it running will matter. They base their "investigation" on your behavior... not what's running on your computer.

I have four fingers and a thumb (5th potion usually a life savior one) and I pop em up in less than a second.. unfortunately I'm still in gearing on Abyss so my pots are mostly life... So empty and no effect.

Any way. I used to have alt+f4 macro on my razer blackwidow keyb. That keyboard can actually do what ever you want. But have your mumble voice over pust-to-talk just beside it. :)

I think it's the exploit of global cooldowns here. I once had a nicely twinked Imperial Agent for pvp in Swtor and I made a macro in my keyboard to self heal optimally within the cooldown.
