Will we be able to start updating before patch goes live on steam?

Since steam users can't use the torrent, just curious if the game will update on steam before time everything is live at 2pm.

in the past the patch has always been available to predownload on steam about 2-3 hrs before it goes live
I dont see any any key!

Will it auto-download if I'm logged into steam or do I have to be at my computer to attempt to launch POE to get it to kick off the update?

Restarting steam is a quick way to get it to recognize a new patch is available. Lucky me has to work until launch+5hours. Stupid final exams. So I'll come home to a patched game.

I've already got mine updated.
Set up the torrent and went to breakfast, came back and replaced the data pack. Done. I do believe that this will work just as well for steam installs, you just have go figure out where the data pack is buried and replace it. Now have to just wait for it to go live so I can test the new gem interactions before I choose my starter build. Patch Notes 3.15: Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. " Steam would see it as a corrupt file and replace it. You would have to keep steam turned off until it was ready to recognize the new file... and even then it would likely try to replace it. |

I just downloaded the 3.1 patch on Steam so it is available now!
