Scion - [3.0][SC/HC] WaifuGate's Scorching Cascade - Forum

First off, I'd like to thank CatmasterOP for the inspiration and idea behind the build. He tossed the idea at me while I was looking for a new character in SSFHC Mayhem.

Pros:
Super survivable with high HP pool and MoM
Very budget
Can run most map mods(cannot leech and cannot regen are pretty rough)
Feelsgoodman

Cons:
Slightly awkward playstyle until you adapt.
Can't be used until lv 38 (the video above is at 39)
Not very mobile while channeling

What it do:

The basic idea here is to use Scorching Ray debuff to get fire penetration and extra damage. The default cast rate on Glacial Cascade is .80. With Cast While Channeling, it starts at .40; it only gets better from there.

We convert our damage into full fire (losing a meager 10% if we use Pyre), so that Scorching Ray can do its magic. The damage scaling feels so good with the new Glacial Cascade changes. In Path of Building, with no gear, GC was at for 28k dps.

For leveling, I recommend either Freezing Pulse or Frostbolt until 12, then start using Firestorm. If you're in SSF, you can mule a character to 12 in order to get it. You want Avatar of Fire by level 38 if you can manage it.

Hatred can be used if you have an essence worm (I'm SSF HC, btw, so I don't have one atm xD)
You can also use a more offensive set up for golems or something instead of the Decoy link I use. I'm playing HC atm, so it feels good for me ;3.

I'm also leaving a link setup blank to account for Kaom's Roots

Ascendancy and Pantheons:

Slayer and Elementalist. If I finished uber, I'd probably just take extra skill points.

Soul of The Brine King (until you get a higher HP/Mana Pool), then swap to Lunaris

Gear:

lv40ish gear

I'm shooting for a good scepter with fire/spell damage and cast speed, and maybe some attack speed if RNG allows it. If you're in a normal league/race, you can pick up a Doryani's Catalyst. Doon Cuebiyari might be a budget option, or Singularity.

lv75 gear

Basically, the only thing required is the Pyre ring, and you don't even NEED that. You can use a Cold to Fire gem instead of Added Fire if you really want to (or if you're playing SSF and you can't find a Pyre). My gear this gear is SSFHC btw

Flasks:

Wise Oak is good, but not required.

In a dream world I'd have two Seething Divine Health of Staunching, an Experimenter's Quicksilver of Warding, Lavianga's Spirit, and a Wise Oak. I'd drop one health flask if I were playing SC for something like a stibnite.

Jewels:

Clear Mind, then anything that has fire damage, spell damage, life, area damage. Basically any damage that applies to Glacial Cascade and Scorching Ray (GC is where most of your damage will come from, so prioritize that).
