[3.1] FLAME TOTEM CHIEFTAIN, MOM BM EB, EVERYTHING VIABLE budget + rich version 300k+ DPS

Ok so i decided to share build i played trough Harbinger league. It carried me trough leveling, maps, guardians, basically everything. I'll try to keep it short.

1. Pros
-can do double reflect, no leech/regen at once
-our totems are taunting, great lab runner
-beginner friendly
-safe playstyle, place totems and run around
-crits make playing this build insanely satisfying, BOOM BOOM BOOM
-totems leech life for themselves and us
-completely out of meta build (at least for now huehue)

2. Cons
-mediocre defenses, however i've seen people in my guild getting lvl 100 with this build, so its possible
-totems are vulnerable to freezes and chaos damage
-totems are not instant action, so clearspeed is not top tier
-gotta self cast that curse you lazy [Removed by Support]

3. Leveling
Start as cleave/sunder, keep flame totems for leveling. At lvl 41 start using nycta's lantern + flame totem + controlled destruction + elemental focus.

Yeah and the skill tree. Completely forgot about it ;D
Go down for blood magic until you get tukohama shield.

Pantheon
Major - Soul Of The Brine King for stun immunity when stunned because we dont have unwavering stance
Minor - Soul Of Ryslatha for life flask gain, sometimes useful

MANDATORY UNIQUES : INFERNAL MANTLE (+1 fire gems and crit chance is so gg, also has good es) costs like 2 alchemy, if you want to have one like me i spent ~40 Exa on it this league :D

4. Gearing up (mod priority : most important -> less important)
Wand : crit chance for spells, added fire to spells, proj speed, spell dmg/crit multi
Helm : flame totem proj speed enchant, life/res, energy shield, armor
Gloves : life/res, energy shield, armor
Belt : life/res, energy shield, armor
Boots : movement speed, life/res , energy shield, armor

try to stack as much res on this part of gear, use jewellery for deeps!

Amulet : crit multi, cast speed, crit chance, life, spell damage/res
Rings : cast speed, life , res

Off Hand : another wand (budget) or Tukohama's Fortress (rich)

Jewels : cast speed/crit multi, life

5. Maxing out the deeps (mod priority : most important -> less important)

Cast speed->crit multi->damage mods->crit chance

Current gear (+1 armor because i played whole league with 1 build and got money for it, does excellent without +1 as well. Did it just for the lols)

Spoiler

Potions (OR SHOULD I SAY FLASKS!?)

Spoiler

before you ask:

-MOM EB BM because i have ES on my mana counting as effective life pool, but it can recharge because i use life to cast skills

I'm not sure I understand this build. How does MoM and BM work? I googled it, MoM can't do anything with BM since you have 0 mana. So what's the point?

Let me picture this in "graphical way"

1.BM

--------------------------------
---ES--------------------------
---Life------------Mana = 0---
--------------------------------

My EHP is indeed ES + Life, but casting totem DOES STOP my shield recharge.

2. BM + MoM

Nonsense because i have no mana, just like you said, you're 100% right, however....

3. BM + MoM + EB
--------------------------------
---Life------------------ES-----
-------------------Mana = 0---
--------------------------------

If i take a hit, my EHP is Life + ES because of MoM and EB

Casting flame totem DOES NOT STOP my energy shield recovery, so i can scale my EHP even more with energy shield on my mana (friend from guild has almost 1,5 ESk on top of mana)

Basically BM + MoM + EB is adding extra EHP with it's recharge independently of using my HP for skills, hence why i use EB, it's very good way to mitigate oneshots if you use BM and have travelled to top part of the tree.

Hope it explains it, i'll update the guide so everyone can see the concept.

PS. Not sure but MoM can split chaos damage over energy shield in this case? Correct me if I am wrong.

-6 link priority : Flame Totem - Controlled Destruction - Elemental Focus - Fire Penetration - Inc Crits - Empower

-wand good enough can beat out tukohama in clearspeed, however not in single target dps (wand provides more totem range if you decide to have another one with proj speed, also more crit)

-try to avoid having other element than fire on wand, totems will kill themselves to reflect

Vids:

EDIT : Updated skill tree and pantheon

Added Fire Damage to Spells is of lesser importance. If you read the "small print" on the Flame Totem gem, it would tell you that it only has 25% Effectiveness of Added Fire Damage. Even the tier 1 roll on your wand effectively only adds a measly 15 flat fire damage. So, added fire damage from other sources such as gear, Anger, or Immolate Support is a nice bonus but by no means a priority for Flame Totems. (Incinerate Totems OTOH will get the full 100%)

Two rather cheap uniques at least deserve an honourable mention here. Hrimnor's Resolve increases Fire Damage by 40% and grants freeze/chill immunity, and Winds of Change with 50% Projectile Damage and 30% increased Projectile Speed... if you can manage your resistances, that is.

Question tho... how good is Sire of shards for FT these days ?
Sire is as as good (or bad) as it ever was since it has never seen any changes really (except slightly improved block chance). Great clear speed for sure and heaps of fun, but a +3 Eclipse Staff would be my preference if I had to play FT with a staff, however, Tukohama's Fortress is just too good.

I'm not sure I understand this build. How does MoM and BM work? I googled it, MoM can't do anything with BM since you have 0 mana. So what's the point?
