Are Torchlight series games any good?
|
I got it but have only played a few minutes and I don't know what I'm doing. Some really good reviews here, btw.
The cartoon stuff is so over the top it does not bother me as much as D3. Go figure. Maybe because it is not serious? Will get mods once I play through. Any good mod suggestions? Censored.

" Yeah, it's probably the setting, an adventure series for kids works just fine in pokemon art style but a horror movie wouldn't. Torchlight never took itself seriously enough. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs. ◄[www.moddb.com/mods/balancedux]► ◄[www.moddb.com/mods/one-vision1]► Last edited by raics#7540 on Oct 28, 2017, 2:22:27 PM

" Torchlight2Essentials is basically a all-in-one package of everything you need. Once you're familiar with the game (like at least one playthrough) you should try Synergies. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Having a blast so far with this game. Pretty easy to learn. Did you guys know there is a mod called Path of Torchlight that features, among other things, rogue exiles?
I got that but I wanna play through w/out mods first. Censored.

" There are some pretty crazy bosses in the game even without mods :D Don't let the appeareance fool you... some of those guys will kick your ass if you aren't careful. And there's also so much hidden stuff, I love it :D I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

"Saw that, IIRC it has conflicts with other mods, so make your list and check it twice. It would be complementary to the existing map system. After 6 hours of playtime and 3 characters started, I have to say I'm inclined to continue on with my engineer tomorrow, if only because RNG has been most favorable amongst the three. The side quests have kept my levels on point, and been entertaining to boot. Looking forward to pushing the pace a bit now that I've adjusted to the potion mechanics. " It's basically this, it's the same graphics as D3, but the dialogue, setting, and graphics are all fighting each other every step of the way, while torchlight feels like everything is coherent. |

I dont think the games are bad, but I was never able to finish Torchlight 2, even with mods. also remember a while ago reading in their forums that even some mod creators hadnt' finished the game.
Dunno what it is, but it seems to be missing something Oblivious Last edited by Disrupted#3096 on Oct 29, 2017, 10:43:48 AM

" Didn't know about that... but I DO know that some of the runic games staff made mods themselves, there are two that increase the environment variety and one that allows 8 player multiplayer. As far as I know these don't interfere with anything, so they're good to have imo. Same goes for one that enables some spell scrolls to drop that already exist but are normally unobtainable. Pretty fun spells from what I've seen :D I make dumb builds, therefore I am.
