Intel HD620 low performance

On my notebook with i5-7200u (intel hd620) game unplayble - about 20fps in town with drops to 5fps. All setting is low, dynamic reslution with huge pixels like in old 300x200 dos game and still unpayble 20+ fps with drops.
This summer im test game on 30% slower intel HD 4600 ( my desktop i7 4770k) and it work MUCH better.
Im found same issue in internet - game work unexpectedly slow on Kabylakes. And no one answers how to fix.

Can you please contact us at 'techsupport@grindinggear.com' with this information? We'd be happy to look into this for you!
Im stay trying different thing and solve problem (probably).

So, for guys with problem like mine little solution :

Im have notebook asus q504ua but problems can be with any other. Im have instaled Intel HD drivers and im try to play with this (also, because some other games go ok)
When im see PoE performance problem first thing im try to do its download latest drivers from intel site. But drivers from intel wasnt installed, with something like "wrong hardware errors" so i skip it.

But not finding other solutions, im come back to drivers problem and found way to install it anyway. Reason of instal rejections its, probably, preinstalled drivers from asus with wrong sign (for you can install only drivers from asus site). Its have a way to install its anyway by "manually" setup and selecting exact .inf file (many tutors in internet).
After do this, all driver pack start to install without issue.

With manually updated Intel drivers PoE working much better - its about 30-40 fps in town with 720p resolution all setting low but without dynamic resolution.
Its still uncomfortable to play because in dungeon when you stay its can be 70fps, but in battle its again 30 and very often droped to almost zero. Buts its, at last, relatively playable.

When im seek for solution im founded many question "how PoE will play on integrated graphics?". So, on my i5-7200u now its that:

That APU is not suggested to be used for Path of Exile at all. A dedicated GPU is required, as well as a CPU that's much, much more powerful.

In other words, unless you're willing to throw $$$$ at a much better gaming laptop, you're gonna need to get a desktop.
Im have a Desktop with 1080ti :) Speaking about notebook for rare travels.
When this summer i swap 1070 and wait for 1080ti im play some time on i7-4770k integrated video. And its was not so smooth as im used to, of curse, but about ok. PoE is old game with modest requirements.
i5-7200u its, of curse, much less CPU power but also it better GPU and GPU is a most important in all 3D games. So i hope its will be not worst then play on 4770k as minimum. Buts im wrong.
And its looks like PoE optimisation problems, because im see many video on youtube when Intel HD620 play GTAV, Battlefield 1, COD and other much newer games then PoE much smoother.
Interesting. I have a very similar motherboard/video card as the OP. Everything was fine until a few days ago, i've played Harbinger more than 500 hours. Now i have nigh unplayable fps, since 3.0.2 or the mini-patch after.

Him: i5-7200U (intel hd620).
Me: i5-6200U (intel hd520).

I'll have to look into updating the drivers like he suggested, but it would be nice to know why this has suddenly started happening.

Fine = playable. Not fine = not playable. Minimum settings across the board. Don't know what fps i had before, maybe 20 (except at Harbinger packs of course, which was slower). It was never amazing, but now i get spurts of 1fps a lot, and Harbinger packs are automatic skips.

Here are 3 short example clips of what is going on, and this is with extreme low settings. It's even worse with normal in-game minimum settings.

Intel HD630

http://prntscr.com/h2qtpc - While idle

https://prnt.sc/h2r50a - In medium size fights [ fps dips to ~25 sometimes freezez for a bit but still playable in a way of speaking, not an enjoyable experience but it is working ]

I've done a harbinger as well and the fps average is more or less about the same 30-40 but the only thing different is the fps spikes to 20ish because the iGPU has limited Pixel/Texture Fillrate and Memory Bandwith.

The one thing you can do to make it run better is go for Dual-Channel RAM setup which will bost the performance by about 20-30%.
You can also squeeze some more fps if you run in fullscreen and you edit the .ini files to lower the texture resolution even more to be able to get some extra bandwith for those eyecandy particle effects.

To get the max performance from iGPU setup you have to go for DX9/DX9EX and you might have to use noasync / forcepreload commands when running the game and it will remove some of the fps spikes.

The screenshots above were made while I was running on DX9 not the EX one. But it's about the same performance in both. It's just that DX9EX is way more stable.

Long story short: this is the best you can get from an integrated GPU. It's not made gaming even tho it can run some games at a decent fps. It can barely decode video files on it's own.
