Rng is a good design for game longevity and replayability for example randomly generated maps, radom mods on rare mobs , random stats on items.
But how much its TOO MUCH?
I feel to many stuffs have bad rng and feel to little reward.
For instance map bosses , why would you buff life but not buff rewards,if map bosses would have a garanteed map drop lets say 60% same level zone, 30 % +1 and 10 % + 2 would make the even feel so dam rewarding and actually let people play the end game , and end game that is designed about rng makes me feel like you are not suposed to do end game.
Why you think WOW was so popular? Because end game raiding was so damn rewarding, eventually you would min max your desired build , i can run poe end game maps 1000 years if u have bad rng you would never min max your build without super luck and nonstop trading.
And another thing i dont understand why would you design an end game shaper , guardians , tier 15 maps , atziri , uber , uber lab WHEN YOU NEED A PERFECT FEW BUILDS AVAIBLE TO EVEN BE ABLE TO RUN IT?
That makes absolutly no Sense !!!
Why you think 99 % of poe comunity give up in early maps or reroll all the time? Because they hit that plateu that WALL that GGG implimented that makes 99% of build unviable end game.
Why you think people get bored fast ? Because thier build sucks end game .
Why you think people played D2 for years doing same shit ball runs 100000 times and still dont get bored ?because with time you eventually would feel like a GOD and feel the real progresion , there in POE your build hits its plateu with your 6L chest /weapon or 21 gems no matter how much you would play amd level to 100 , you would still get 1 shot with 12 k hp because thats ggg mentality take no damage then get 1 shot .
So you spend 2 weeks in poe planned building your god tier build then farm for 1 month get the items ,get the levels then Poe game engine rolls the dice:BAD RNG FOR YOU , YOU rolled mob crits you for 982 % crit multi >>see you next league , Gl nezt time
I have 783 builds in my poe.planner
I played 3 of those in the last 2 years
Please more 1 shot mechanics so

Your guaranteed map drop with a 10% +2 would mean that all maps would have a positive expectation... that maps would sustain themselves and everyone would have more maps than they could ever use. They'd become a nuisance rather than a reward.
GGG knows what they're doing here. Maps are at the right point, where you can sustain them with investment, but if you just run whites you'll fall behind. Perfect spot for RNG.
You might need "perfect builds" to run T15+, but a skilled player wont. This game requires that you develop skill. It's not the same as other ARPG where you're just passively moving your character through the environment. You likely haven't given yourself a chance to learn to play well... opting instead to let your equipment and build overcome challenges meant to teach you how to avoid damage, and maximize your effect by placing them correctly.

Do you have played WoW in endgame? It's farming like 100+ bosses to get specific items u need for your build. Also farming Emblems lasts weeks to buy Gear that u will need to sustain endgame raids.
U might need awesome builds to beat shaper and uber atziri but T15 maps and uberlab can be done by every build just by the skill of the player and knowledge of your character and the endbosses.
No one would play the game if it is as casual as you want it to be.

Maps already pay for themselves, T16 chimera maps cost 4c and the frags sell for 7c. You get paid 3c to run a map not including all the other loot that drops.
No one on harbinger has an excuse for complaining about map rng.
