"pick up helper" - would that script be "legal"?

Script description:
1. script has specified list of items to pickup (for example - all orbs)
2. player is in the game, surrounded by items laying on the ground
3. player presses a keyboard button, triggering script:
4. script looks for all items on the ground, finds those that are on the "items to pick up list" and auto picks up just one item (lets say - that one that is closes to the player)
5. go to 2.

by "auto picks up" I mean just clicks on the item on the ground - if there is space in inventory - great, if not - just gonna bump it...

By their definition, I'd dare say its legit, by my definition its one step close to bots and bannable.

Just to point out, I personally, am all for personal convenience and would like autoloot, but I think devs want "interaction" trough clicking items on ground manually. That is why they went as far as only making filters.

No, it's not. First of all - this script is an automation of gameplay, which is not allowed, no matter how you look at it. And even if you just go by "1 server action per button click" additional exception, which allows certain macros, this goes beyond that - it has to at least move your character, place item on cursor, place item to inventory, which are all separate actions. Not to mention it has to either read game memory or use some image recognition.

not necessary - script could just move the cursor upon item and stop here, user could press L-click at that point - in that case it would be one action.

yes, it could take screen shot and work out png.. it's allowed, isn't it?... (since there is no big difference in ss and ctrl-c and working out png/txt like they do in path of exil info script, right?)

you would be better off sending a question to support. I'm 99% sure it won't be allowed though.

Image recognition wasn't allowed before. For example the idea was to play a loud sound when it recognizes you are bleeding. that wasn't allowed even though it is 0 server-side actions.

It automates selecting an item for pickup. No automation allowed.
