How rare are unique items?

Saw someone in Act 1 find a "Unique Item".

So? There's an achievement for getting a unique drop in Twilight Strand, the very first zone in the game.
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

Uniques aren't that rare. The good uniques are very rare. For instance, in the current league, I've built characters to level 91 and 88. I have found literally, over 100 unique weapons and over 100 other uniques. However, only 4 of them could be sold for more than one chaos, none of them for more and 25c.

During the campaign, very rare from my exp, once you start running maps I get one at least one per every two maps I run.

They drop like candy from end game but they tend to not be worth the shards they vendor for.

From my experience Act 9 is where the drops become worthwhile, you get far more orbs and uniques, up to even 6 per map but as others before said, great majority of them are as good as whites and even few really powerfull one's might have drawbacks that may make them useless for your character. Its always a little exciting to hear that "whoosh" sound, but more ofthen then not it ends it disapointment.
