lower graphics settings for spell effects
Please, add a quality slider for spell effects in the graphics settings.
I run PoE on an old computer. I am well aware the game WILL be choppy sometimes. That's okay with me. I'm playing on dx9EX on lowish settings, and I get around 50-60 fps in most areas, but the frame rate tanks to single digit numbers when a lot of spells are present. For example, stuff like harbinger's glow (cpu bottlenecks to unplayable levels) or patches of burning ground. In towns, with sparkling wallet warriors around - stable 12 fps. Editing the game config file to reduce texture quality provides no gain in frame rate. It's not the textures. It is the spell effects. As much as I enjoy observing someone's glowing boots, I'd very much prefer a higher frame rate. Surely a lot of other owners of last millennium tech would appreciate greater manual control over graphics quality. P.S. I'd like to pre-report anyone posting useless garbage like "just buy a new pc lel" for trolling. Last bumped on Sep 27, 2017, 3:41:09 AM

Burning, shocking, chilled ground consumes fps like crazy. Fire effects like those bonfires in Arachnid temple (or is lair? not sure atm) boss room and on the Ruined Square are killers as well. But I heard the GGG dont want to do this for some reason. I think it was something like lowering particle effect density would break the immersion, lol, like 5 fps when in effect heavy combat doesnt break immersion at all. Also I would add plea for ability to turn of shadows in dx11 client. |
