Suggestion - In-game Trade system - Mockups
Hi all.
Nothing much to say except, give us a way to trade without leaving maps. And even better if we could look for items to buy while staying IN GAME. This game is almost unplayable without trading yet there is no support for it. I have done a few mock ups for what I feel the trade system could be like. First, from the view of the buyer. We are in town. Talk to the NPC that has trading (could be new NPC or old, non care). Here we have 2 options to do with trading. Trade Shop and Shop Income. A buyer would click on Trade Shop. The Shop Income comes into play for the buyer and seller once the trade is accepted by both parties. ![]() Next step is similar to what you would see at POE.trade. The buyer enters the details of the item they want to buy and search for it. This is a mock up so please don't say that there are too few options for search. Once the details are in and the Search button has been pressed the buyer is presented with items for sale that match the search. The buyer has 2 options for each item, Buy or Offer. If the buyer selects Buy then an offer will be made matching the Asking Price listed. If Offer is selected, then the buyer could make a custom offer (another window would be needed for the offer, I think opening the stash and having a 4x4 inventory on the right that will be the offer window). ![]() That's pretty much all I mocked up for the buyer. The Seller. We all know that feeling when we are mapping and trades of a few chaos or less pop up. They aren't worth the portal. In this image we have the Sellers screen. A Trade button has popped up just above the mana. Nothing fancy, not taking up space (I guess this could be expanded to have similar buttons to the trade apps available like Mercury Trade, a 'One Moment' button or maybe a text of the item for sale, asking price and offer for a quick accept or decline). ![]() When the Seller is ready to look at the trade they simple click the trade button. The trade window appears. Showing the item that the Seller has for sale, the asking price for the item and the Buyer's offer. Here the trade can be Accepted or Declined or even a Counter Offer could be made (although at this point I feel like a dialog between the Buyer and Seller should be started). ![]() A player could sell many items during the map, but where would the currency go? The same place that the Buyer would pick up their new item. In town at the trade NPC from earlier. Shop Income. This will appear like a normal Trade window with the items that the player has newly acquired. For the Buyer it would be the item. For the Seller it would be currency from selling the item. From this point we could go into quicker trading enhancements. Like Sellers having the option to Auto-Sell items that have the asking priced matched. This requires even less work from the Seller and the Buyer would be able to purchase items from offline players if they have it selected. I know I haven't thought of every scenario and sometimes a dialog between Seller and Buyer is better, but this quick system would allow for a lot less pain in trading. No more dealing with Sellers that are AFK or Buyers that message 5 Sellers and ignore 4 of them if all 5 respond. Anyway, that's my thoughts. Last bumped on Sep 25, 2017, 5:42:19 AM

I like this idea, it's more "functional" compared to GGG's Xbox trade board. But, I assume if GGG will also implement some sort of "in-game trading system" for PC, it will just be similar to the Xbox Trade Board. https://youtu.be/4DU7P8nYjHc?t=109

Xbox trade system for sure will have improvements soon, it has to be improved to be useful, right now it's a complete mess and that was expected from a trading system this big without enough filters
The addition of filters will almost for sure be gradual and probably it will never have as many filters as we have in poe.trade but it's a good first step and the next step is to give pc players the same trading system while maintaining poe.trade This way we'll have a gradual a transition from poe.trade to in-game trade as more and more filters are slowly added to the in-game system |
