Brutality vs Added Fire support

I'm playing a pure spellcasting physical build, and strangely enough when I link it with Brutality (there's a good bunch more dps) it tooltips me less than if I was liking it with Added Fire.

Is Brutality support that bad, or is there something I didn't took into account?

probably some lingering added elemental damage to spells from weapons and a bit of elemental damage on tree scaling the added fire more too.

As the gems even out in level brutality may give more damage i guess

Take off both gems and see whether there's elemental or chaos damage in your tooltip? Alternatively there may be some massive % elemental damage coming from somewhere.

Remember that brutality prevents all elemental damage. So for you the ele damage on your wand, your boot enchant, Herald of Thunder, all becomes 0. All of that + added fire is very likely to give you more overall than brutality.

Not sure how relevant this is, but I switched my melee physical +added fire + Fortify using Hatred and Ash with Brutality using Haste but the only other thing I could find to link it with was Damage at full life. That was effectively more dps but only at full hp.

Since that was situational dps and the fact I dropped 20k when not at full life and also lost Fortify, it was more consistent dps to go back to added fire using auras.

This was all on a 5-link.

You have a bit of increased elemental damage on your tree.
You have a bit of flat fire to spells on your wand and boots.
You have Herald of Thunder.

I'd still use brutality, though.
Just find other boots, another wand, another aura.
