Brutality Support + Hinekora, Death's Fury = win?
The Brutality support gem adds MORE damage to the linked skill, but suppresses elemental and chaos damage. Ok. But Chieftain's Hinekora's ascendancy adds 20% of physical damage as extra fire damage: would it work or not? Technically your skill linked with Brutality doesn't do any elemental damage itself, but the ascendancy node adds, not counting Brutality's no-elemental damage part?

if I were a betting man I would bet that the 20% fire damage would also be suppressed

It won't work, technically the extra fire damage you would do to enemies is a result of using the skill, thus brutality still applies.
This works the same way as with passives on the tree granting elemental conversion/extra damage, which again you might argue 'is not due to the skill itself' |

Yep, locobilbo is correct. The passive simply adds Fire Damage to your Skill, and your Skill has a modifier that negates all Elemental Damage.
