Spark unaffected by faster casting?

I'm pretty new here - ran into a frustration with casting speed and I thought someone here can help:
I have a level 73 character in std and a level 64 in harbinger (the problem character). Both are Templar Inquisitors, similar passive skill tree setup. Both with Spark-Spell Echo-Faster Projectiles-Increased Crit setup. My 73 character casts spark really fast, about 3 casts of spark per second. In character sheet, it's stated casts per second for Spark = 3.5 My 64 character casts spark really really slowly, about 1 cast a second. In character sheet, it's stated casts per second for Spark = 3.52 (which is faster) - this is the issue I'm facing. I swapped out increased crit for a Faster Casting Gem - doesn't affect cast speed. I added a jewel into my passive tree that +cast speed - did not affect my cast speed. Any thoughts on why my cast animation and cast speed is 1 per second when it should be a lot faster? I looked through all my gear and setup, I'm not using any uniques that reduces cast speed, and both characters have pretty similar gear. Any thoughts / help appreciated - thanks in advance! Make your characters public... No one can tell you what the problem is if they can't see your characters.

Looking at your character, I don't see anything that would make it so that your sparks would cast slower.
Maybe it is a bug? I haven't used spark since it's quadruple nerf. I can say however, your build should feel much smoother after you get instruments of virtue. That cast speed after attack is very juicy especially since your choice of movement skill is shield charge. I don't see anything in your gearing that would indicate a slowing down of cast speed. It maybe something to put in the bug report forums. Try unsocketing spell echo and re socketing it. It could be a bug where the gem setup is not registering. |

You're probably using the wrong Spark Gem; you have more than one Spark socketed, make sure you use the one with a bunch of Supports on it.

You have done something that reduced your strength / dex - 3 pieces of gear aren't being used because you don't meet the S/D requirements for them (or the gems in them).

That was it! I bound the wrong Spark spell to my hotkey. Thanks for the tip!

Yes on Instruments of Virtue - Haven't been able to complete the next Labrynth yet to get it, but that's next on my list to do. Thanks for the tip!
