Immortal call, even if I'd get 3 ECs, is not lasting long enough to find the Chimera in the smoke. Also, same problem as with other defensive options, you can hardly get ECs on the right side of the tree.

The only issue I have is that retarded smoke phase. You cant evade, not sure about dodge, and if you have no physical mitigation (Basalt Flask alone won't help) and no move skill like Whirling Blades to find the Chimera quickly, you are dead. Even 6K life won't help because you get two-hit and that's it.

Physical mitigation as a Shadow or Ranger is very hard to get, not even mentioning that you shouldnt be forced into one certain kind of defense just because of a single stupid boss design.

this is what Wiki says - that it cannot be physicaly dodged. it means you cannot dodge it with position/movement

but evasion/block work perfectly fine vs these attacks.. just watched vid of myself finding chimera in last puff of smoke when he hit me 3 times out of 8 hits. was it evasion or dodge - no idea. but he definitely did not hit me each time

i sometimes wonder about where people get this kind of 'knowledge' from

Yet i never did her till a few minutes with an eva/dodge char. I indeed evaded/dodged attacks during cloud phase so i understand even less the op complain.

Chimera just is a kind of boss, that punishes characters without good regeneration or investments into block/dodge/evasion. For my Slayer, who restores 67% hp per second, his "sandstorm" is nothing but a joke. As well as all his attacks.

The only problem is his adds. They seems to have more DPS that the boss himself! Especially annoying are snakes, that deal significant portion of chaos damage. With any significant damage mods, they'll have a chance to oneshot me, while boss himself will remain a faceroll.
