frequent unexpected disconnect. winmtr

Im not sure exactly when it started. I think post 3.0 live. thinking back, I dont feel this was happening in beta. in fact, given I was at like 0 deaths prekitava, 5 deaths post kitava, and now 32 in the weeks following, its likely only really been happening quite lately.

us-washington gateway.
ethernet wired into router

Started up winmtr, and played till I hit a spike.
I dont know what any of this means.

Bypassing router. Seeing if that changes anything.
Since that second one, seems to be saying "Destination network unreachable" AT the router?
Shouldn't make much of a difference. You are getting packet loss at your first/second hop. Restart your router and modem (turn them off and unplug them for a minute). If the packet loss goes away, great. If not, you're going to have to get a hold of your ISP. Make sure that they see your MTR as that is proof that something is wrong.

yeah, just got hit again skipping router.
Will try restarting the modem first.

still got a spike post modem reset.
contacting isp, see what they say.

thanks for the response and aid.
Np, may also want to see if swapping out for a new cat 5 from your PC to router may help..or router to modem. Packet loss is showing up at your first hop as well, which is also not a good thing.

Granted, it's only a single %, but even that can have adverse effects on POE. That, and your second trace shows a crap ton more Packet loss than your first which means there really is something borked. :/

Follow up:

ISP tech came. Tried a few things. going on 2 hours now and has been smooth since. so, seems one of them worked.

Pretty much replaced all the connectors from road to modem.
The connector at exterior-interior was pretty corroded, and not grounded. I suspect this was the issue.
Also, cut out extra coaxial slack. (had a good 10ft extra) this was wound up, and laying with other extra wound up coaxial(for directtv, etc..)
And replaced the modem itself with a newer one.

Thanks again.
