Hall of Grandmasters

Just sell the map for whatever it's worth whenever you find it. Let another masochist try and run it
Tried this insane map twice, with different builds. I could not even clear one wing, because in every wing there's at least one dude that's either just completely immune to the type of damage I'm dealing or just heals 10x faster than I can deal damage.

Never doing that map again.
The tier 9 is incredibly misleading and is obviously a defect that GGG needs to address asap. It should be unlocked only after beating shaper.
Agree with everything I have read so far. Maybe GGG should not penalize for dying here.

I think that the completion (even dying 4 or 5 times) of this one map it's hard enough and you dont really want people suffer for that xp lost.
HC SSF Harbinguer : Templar Inquisitor, LVL 94 (RIP).
STANDARD : Templar Inquisitor, LVL 97 (ALL CONTENT DONE)
the map's over all inaccessibility for such a low map tier is mostly why i haven't bothered to submit my grand-master to it yet .

that being said the whole thing is just a mechanics test.

if you have the right mechanics .. its pretty much a cake walk save or one very evil lightning arrow character.

if you dont .. well pound sand T-T such an annoying concept

It's purpose is to let 400-500 people who donated $1000 (or some such figure) to show off either their wit or their prowess with the game. You have nothing to do with it. You're supposed to die and go "well, that was fun".

But the thing is that I did die and could not for the love of me feel the fun.

As for the so called Grandmasters, what purpose is to buy something people will never experience? This goes beyond buying pixels, it's buying bits of data on a server. If I would have bought a slot and found out that GGG implemented my character in such a way that most people die before they even get a chance to see it, let alone read its name, I would be pissed.
You're wasting your time here Jon. You're looking for an in-game purpose for something that was specifically designed with real life purposes. They used it to make money. Players who gave them enough got to do what ever they wanted with it, and GGG got to do what ever they wanted with the money. Other players didn't have anything to do with it.

Ignore it, if that suits you. But don't come putting yourself into the design goals. You have literally nothing to do with it. It did what it was designed to do. You're making it something it wasn't.
Worth noting that if you CAN run it, doing HOGM carries, and keeping the loot can be a decent way to make a good chunk of currency. I have a friend that did a lot of these with a Sunder Slayer (with a 6L Scorching Ray staff on swap xD) and he made BANK. Some of the best div cards drop here (The Immortal and The Last One Standing), combined with occasional good drops, and the consistent 5c or whatever per person for the carry, it all adds up pretty quickly.
U MAD?

You know... they left it up to the players to come up with the Grand Masters. Imagine what the rest of the game would be like if they listened to us.

Rofl. I doubt anyone would play this game if the whole thing was created by the players. Every map would be covered with the most bullshit trollish trash they could come up with. There would be wild dickbutts everywhere. Waifus running at you full bore. All of them level 200, all of them using stupid broken builds. Every single mob.

And when you die, the game uninstalls itself with an unignorable message that says "get gud scrub".
It`s not too bad with a golemancer, at least it`s the 1st build that could do it for me, others were demolished fairly quickly.
