Is It Worth Buying an XBone to Play PoE on Console?

I hope everyone's doing well. I was playing with the idea of buying an XBone to play PoE. Is it worth it?

Honestly, for most people I would say probably not. First of all, while it isn't required to download Path of Exile, log in, and start playing, some social features do require Xbox Live Gold. So add to the cost of the console the monthly subscription you now find yourself paying. Then factor in that none of your previous purchases carry over, so you have 0 store points and no MTX.

I think for most people, if you've a computer that runs the game well, it's too raw of a deal. The port is great news for anyone who has a computer that isn't really powerful enough and who had never spent much on the PC version - especially if you exclusively or primarily play in the challenge leagues and are thus unlikely to miss your existing characters. For me it asks for too much while offering too little. It'd be different if you already had the console and an XLG subscription.

I personally wouldn't buy an Xbox JUST for PoE, but I already had an Xbox and play both versions just fine. It's fun to sit back and play. My Xbox one also my Blu-ray player and media center for streaming, so overall an Xbox was worth it for me.

I don't play it too seriously though, as all of my stash tabs and Mtxs are on PC. Other than that, I enjoy playing it. Honestly, if almost use that version on PC too if I had the option and could use my mtx.

No way! Going from keyboard/mouse precise controls to an xbox controller has got to be a serious downgrade. I've tried a friends game console and a controller is horrible for first person shooters compared to a keyboard/mouse so even PoE on a controller would have to be less ideal.

@Sarno: Thanks for the informative response! Given the monthly XLG subscription, I don't think I'd pay that just to play PoE when I can already play it for free. Thanks!
