So the 6 most important stats on "Armor" pieces are...
" Not a bad idea to deal with Elemental Weakness or other dings to your resistances. But that's a pretty high price to pay for convenience. |

Im just saying besides Gloves and Boots (Maybe) an end game build will want pretty much the same stats on end game gear right? As long as your DPS (clear speed) can keep up most of the changes for BiS will be pretty minor right?

" Only if you'd rather sacrifice dps/ehp for the luxury of not needing a gear swap. Just my opinion but overcapping resists is one of the laziest and poorest ideas in poe , a game all about optimization. IGN: Arlianth

" ultimately the answer to that question is no. However you can make a fairly broad generalization that would say "a lot of endgame builds want this sort of stat combo with quite minor changes". With rare gear rings and amulet are where you see maybe the biggest differences in the sort of bis stats a build wants, followed by gloves, I would actually say boots are maybe at the bottom of the list where most of the stats wanted are the same. But theres always exceptions in poe. you mention... " youre talking about armours in general, lets just look specifically at rare body armour for life based armour builds, red socket gear like astral and glorious plates... Good suffixes... Resist // %physical damage reduction // strength a combo of any 3 of these will be desirable. You can sometimes argue that the higher budget a player has, the less they care about resist in favour of other useful suffixes because their gear in general will be more maxed out, have less wasted stats, have more high rolled stats and hence will need less suffixes devoted to resist on each piece. Not always true, a particular build maybe have many uniques without resist and hence the player wants 3 resists on the chest to balance it, but perhaps the next guys build uses less uniques and he wants 1 high resist with 50 strength and 4% physical damage reduction. Good prefixes... life // % armour // life+armour hybrid // +# to armour The variable here is basically the last 2, I think it could be argued that 99% of cases want life + % defense, which is then split into 2 camps one of whom want the full flat armour roll and the others want the smaller armour roll that comes with the second life roll. There may be a small niche for juggernaut builds who want flat armour, % armour and % armour + stun or life + flat armour hybrid, but I think these people will expect to pay less for their chest because they know its a widely unwanted combo. thats rare pure armour based chest armour essentially. This is one of the most simple, low variance slots youre going to find. If you start looking at chest armours for armour + energy shield hybrid like saintly chainmail and saints hurberks then theres some more variety in stat combos that start to creep in even on body armours which are generally a fairly low variety slot. People who want to max out the life + armour, the life + es, the es + armour, people who want life + mana, life + armour + es... If you pick a slot like rings, you could write a short book on the different varieties of stats that would be considered best in slot for the range of builds out there. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Sep 3, 2017, 6:35:06 PM
