Elemental Equilibrium Build

Right so I want to make a successful caster in the hardcore league but I'm not big fan of the witch with her limited health options early game. Furthermore I just wanted to try the EE keystone because it seems like a cool concept in terms of gameplay.

Anyway if you look at the build I think you get the idea. The plan is to alternate between cold and lightning damage and the main reason for that is because of ice and shock nova spells being single hit and big aoe.

So what do you think? I'd love some criticism. The build has reasonable tank (I think) and the aoes in succession should do reasonable damage with the 50% reduction in enemy resistance. I'm not sure about what I should do for single target though... I'm also assuming I can wear standard Templar gear with a wand and any shield with good spell damage on. Or will 172 strength not be enough?

The problem with EE is that almost every party you're in will have either Anger/Wrath/Hatred running, and that screws up any kind of EE build. If you're planning to solo though, it's fine.

Ah good point man, I didn't think of that as I've been playing solo mostly.

most melee w/ elemental damage will be going all 3 types of elemental damages so it won't effect your EE.

I have also been playing around with builds, really wanting EE, and have this as a rough target for the moment.

Ideas are EE, life stacking, maximising buffs and debuffs and curses, some extra dmg and crit nodes, still a work in progress though.... may sacrifice some areas and head over to shadow side for the chaos resist and +60% spell crit for example, but that I can refine much later...

The other build I am playing with is Invalesco's Righteous Fire Templar as I love the synergy of RF, Zealots Oath, Ghost Reaver but am not sure I like the Freezing Pulse as pretty much your only weapon, plus I think it needs way better gear than I have to get best from.

So this got me thinking... I reckon its the spell variety and rotation of EE that appeals to me.... plus the dmg scaling of shock.... but don't know if this is better or worse than the RF templar. However, I have heard that EE is really tough to pull off in a Group as many people run auras like wrath or anger which bork up our EE? But so far I have done zero grouping and I'm still a bit of a noob.... so maybe I will do this EE character now, and then when I farm ES gear later I can make the RF one?

Oh so much theorycrafting, should really just play the damn game :D
