Plasma Screen Burn In Prevention

As the title suggests there are a few static areas of the game UI which are causing screen burn in issues on my Plasma TV.
Specifically the health and mana globes have a pure white reflection in the center of them and the shield meter is constantly white. It would be an excellent feature to be able to scale the game user interface just like League of Legends or WoW. So that different areas of my screen are getting even levels of exposure to the static elements of the game UI.

If this is not possible, does anyone know of a program that could put static images over top of the game almost as an overlay? This way I could set up black boxes over the problem areas of the UI.

Thanks for your consideration.

Or just don't use plasma screens. They are not good for the environment due to their high power usage anyway. :P

That's not a helpful solution for someone who already HAS one.

All my screens are LCD, but more options are always good, and if one person is facing this problem, others are as well.

Well, if I use windows 95, should I ask that they make the game compatible with it then? I mean, if I face that problem, other may do as well... Plasmas are outdated, they consume to much power and are not good for the environment and their longlevity is really short (because of screen burning).

Getting a new one is better for everyone. I mean, it will consume time from GGG to give for every single (sorry to say it like that) fuck an adjustable option. Everyone asks for optional stuff and when GGG only would focus on that stuff, a majority of the players wouldn't benefit from the next updates just because a handful of players has pc's from 1990, use screens that are outdated, use extremely old windows version etc... GGG really has better things to do imo. This would delay big updates like act 4 etc. greatly and I think 99% of the players wouldn't like that just because some players use outdated stuff...

When they have the time for stuff like this, I don't mind, let them implement optional stuff, but I doubt that they will have time so soon. :/

What an ignorant and completely unhelpful post. The fact of the matter is that a plasma screen LOOKED BETTER to ME. ME being the person paying the electricity bills, ME who fronted the cost of the screen. ME being the person asking for an option in game.

As far as plasmas being outdated? It's a 2013 3D model. LCD also experience this issue, albeit not as commonly. It is a NORMAL request to have the ability to resize the UI in games. It just so happens that a helpful side effect of this feature implementation would be the ability to reduce a LEGITIMATE PROBLEM that can't simply be solved by 'go buy a new TV'.

Asshole.
It was my understanding that the burn in issue has by and large mostly gone away on modern day plasma TVs, unless of course you're playing this constantly for days on end, and staying in the same map.

Every time you go to a new area, there is a loading screen. That in itself would actually be enough to stop burn in, not to mention the fact that you also use chat, inventory, stash etc which help change the image over things like health and mana.

Rage mode. :)

How old are you that you need to call someone a**hole because he has an opinion about plasma screens?

And well: When you bought a plasma screen, you knew that those screens have burning issues. Plasma may be good for watching tv because the pictures are not static, but for games there are mostly UI's that are static. And I really don't care if the screen looked good to you and you pay the bills. Those screen waste alot of power and that's just not good for the economy and that's what I said. I never said "oh, you have to pay high bills" because I never talked about the money and I don't care about your wealth, I was talking about the economy. But I think people like you don't care about this topic, otherwise you would have understood what I said. ;)

I am also running the game on a large LG Plasma, and have the same problem, here are my ways to deal with it, im sure you are doing the same, but if not maybe you can try them.

1. Use the TV's own 'Whitewash' setting to help erase the 'burn in' (it's actually 'Image Retention', due to static images being displayed for a long period of time, 'Burn In' is where the TV was used incorrectly for the first 150 - 200hrs this running in period is where the TV should be used as such and not a monitor). I am sure you are aware of this if you have been searching for information on this problem, so i will not preach to you as if you don't know anything.
(this setting is normally found in the Factory Settings menu or your TV's equivalent)

2. Turn the contrast and brigthness down to a less intense level.

3. Go into the TV's menu and turn High power off in the Screens menu (if you have one)this also turns the brightness down and lowers the power consumption of your screen. (for the environmentalists out there) ;P

4. If going afk log out of P.O.E and run a screen saver i use Solarwinds.scr this is an openGL saver and turns the screen black and throws multicolored shapes around.

ALSO:

A hot-key to turn the UI on and off would be awesome. just have the life/mana/shield/reserved text would be enough.

Personally i don't need to see the buffs up top, and all actions are hot-keyed anyhow.

Just my 2 cents.

Dude, you ARE being an a-hole. You don't like plasma screens because they're bad for the environment? Do you use Air Conditioning in your home? Do you drive a car? Both of those do more damage than a plasma screen. Hell, the computer you play PoE on probably uses more energy than his plasma screen. A plasma screen is a perfectly legitimate purchase and telling someone that his problem is meaningless because it's a "bad purchase" is douchy.
