Item quantity and rarity gems

Item Quantity and Item Rarity gems are support gems.
Do they work only with the skill they are connected with or do they work globally? Mean, it is obvious to me that when I got Item Quantity linked with my Ground Slam skill, and mob dies from Ground Slam, Item Quantity gem affects loot. But will it work the same way if mob dies from another, not linked skill? ZORG: If you want something done- do it yourself!

They work like every other support gem and modify the skill they are linked to, nothing more.

Thanks... That is what I thought. But: does the target need to die from the min skill to apply this support effect or it is enough for target to be afflicted by linked skill?
Mean: skill A is linked with Item Quantity. Skill A hits target mob. Is it enough to modify loot from target mob even if it dies from another skill (skill B) later? ZORG: If you want something done- do it yourself!

i got weapon swap a wand with culling strike, IQ and IR quailty gems, i switch on bosses when low hp with X so quick not sure if it really makes any difference tbh

" Is the date on that post before the removing of IIR/IIQ from armor? Cause the mod present on items is global but the gem applies to the skill and it has to be the killing blow. |
