Is farming guardians a viable way of making a living in PoE?

So, I've hit a big milestone in my casual PoE gamer life - I've finally beaten the Guardians. Not only that, but I've found that the build I'm running this league is actually capable of reliably farming them. So I thought about sticking around for a while and farming those four dudes for a living. The math I did in my head was simple: a T16 map costs 4-5c, a guardian fragment sells for about the same, so as long as I can kill the boss, I essentially get the map for free, and get to keep the rest of the loot... Except that I found that loot to be very underwhelming. Nothing really drops in T16 maps that I wouldn't see dropping in T14-T15 ones. I've done about 20 runs so far, and the most expensive item I've found was Tabula Rasa. The rest was crap worth 1c apiece at best. Plus I've found that I'm spending quite a few alchs and scourings on rerolling bad mods. So right now it looks like I can break even and make a small profit by selling full shaper sets, but that's about it. Nothing really impressive.

So the question is: are the Guardians even worth farming on a regular basis, or would I be better off moving on to the Shaper and Uber Atziri? I've already tried the Shaper once, failed due to poor knowledge of fight mechanics (damn cold pools), but in any event it doesn't look like I'll be able to farm that guy reliably even if I manage to beat him once. Haven't tried Uber Atziri yet, the entrace fee is kinda high. I'm at a crossroads here, so any input and advice from players with more endgame experience would be appreciated :)

People often sell corrupted guardian kill credits for 2-3c a pop.
Depending on how many portals you have left, you can make quite a bit selling kill credits.

Thanks, haven't thought of that :) That's why I was asking for advice from more experienced players - I'm kinda new to this whole endgame farming scenario, haven't gotten this far before :D

If you can't kill shaper then there's no point of you doing guardians not many people want guardian kills even as corrupted I can tell you that from experience.

Yes,either farm Shaper or hope for drops while doing maps. If you want to farm bosses there is only Shaper and Uber Atziri.

all depense on your luck x'D rng gods could give u a pure ex drop each run or nothing at all :P

Yeah basically entire point of shaper is for you to get a flask or a sword that's the money. Guardians don't give you shit I can tell you from my experience of probably 300+ guardians this league as it is that nobody / not many people buy guardian kills.

Even 2c mind you.

Its just unlock the harbringer league effevts points, its good
