Question Regarding the Elementalist Node 'Mastermind of Discord'
Hey folks!
I've been playing PoE quite a bit lately but I still don't have a firm grasp on some of the complex mechanics so I thought I'd ask you guys! :) My question is about the Elementalist Node 'Mastermind of Discord.' Specifically the line that reads "Damage Penetrates 25% Cold Resistance if you've used a Fire Skill in the past 10 seconds." My question is: if I use Flame Golem, will the effect be triggered? And if so, will it only be triggered by my summoning the golem (meaning I will have to summon it every 10 seconds to keep the effect up)? Or will the golem's own attacks (which are also fire attacks) trigger this effect as well? There are so many little details and intricate mechanics that it's hard to keep track of what does what exactly sometimes. Thanks for your help. :) Last bumped on Aug 21, 2017, 3:52:26 PM

"Summon Flame Golem" is a spell you cast, which causes you to summon a golem that is made of flame(ing rock). That spell has the 'Fire' tag and is an action you-the-player perform, and so triggers Cold pen via Mastermind of Discord for 10s.
The golem is its own entity; its stats don't affect out (outside of the golem buff specifically worded to do so), and your stats don't affect it (outside of anything explicitly tagged as 'Minion' in the tree). Your golem does not have Mastermind of Discord, nor does it somehow share your MoD. Its actions do not and cannot count for any sort of "If You [X]" trigger condition, because the golem is not you. Hope that helps clarify why the mechanics work the way they do. If not, lemme know and I'll see if I can explain better. She/Her
